Ofttimes skaters overthink during an extended simple entry.

Right. She needs a solid core. A long edge into a move she's uncertain about, and the dread either makes her stomach tighten up or go fluttery. Either way, the throw is lost before she even takes off.

Their throws have no lift at all. It’s as if he’s trying to be too gentle with her or something. They need to take the training wheels off.

Last year they did double throws and double twist . The triple twist this year is quite solid and a good upgrade. Honestly I would continue with double throws but he says they land them in practice.

Nevertheless they are US Champions, 4CCs bronze medalists and placed first of the Americans here.

If they get those triple throws over the summer they will be hard to stop.

Me neither. I hope all the remaining teams skate well. The US pairs will survive. This is not the first time this happened.

I wonder how much the teams were thrown off by the width of the arena. Lots of botched throws tonight

Watching on TV and with the camera angle, I'm cringing as almost all the throws are set up too close to the boards (or so it appears on the screen). You'd think the North Americans would be used to NHL dimensions, though.

That's a big if. I love Danny as a skater but Ellie is underperforming to put it gently. As are all our female pair skaters at this worlds. It's hard to keep hoping all will be better. I'm keeping my expectations low, that way if they improve I'll be a bit happier,

Yes, so there's no need to be worrying about going down to one spot, two is already guaranteed.
