Yes, I'm bitter. It was brilliant jumpwise, but Yuma is a brilliant complete figure skater and watching Ilia's step sequence after his is painful.

Hopefully it will swing back someday.

Ilia would have won by 18 points or so even with a 3A instead of a 4A. Well deserved win for him in the end and absolutely historic performance.

But his PCS score is quite inflated, 90.61 for this is just not right.

I think Ilia's step sequence was also very good objectively speaking though. Not as good or exquisite as Yuma's ... but still very good.

Yeah, there was nothing anyone could do against that. Even if everyone else had skated perfectly... there is just too big of a gap on the tech side.

His performance and jumping skills are mesmerizing. Nobody in the last group who skated with him came even close. Fantastic for him.
Sad for the Japanese men who lost, but seeing the winner hopefully gives them good challenge to evolve and come more prepared to compete with him, in my opinion.

How lucky are we in the US to have back to back skaters like Nathan and Ilia? Most people didn't think we'd see another skater who could jump like Nathan and it took less then a Olympic cycle.
