I will be curious to see if they refactor PCS so the top PCS score is a 105-115, just because our technical score keeps on climbing with no limit and I do think PCS and TES should he closer than 38 points difference from the WR tech score and max PCS score, and plus all of the top men score well over 100 in TES anyways. It would be easy, they could just update the factor value to a 3.75 in the FS instead of the 3.3 they have now. We'll see what happens at the Congress; the men are just progressing to fast! The ISU can't keep up!

This sport is always a pull between the artistic and the tech. With Adam, Yuma, Shun, and Kao out there.. Ilya is not always going to find winning easy.

With Adam and Yuma, maybe true, but Shun and Kao... I don't they'll be an obstacle for Ilia.

Now that Ilia has won the world title maybe NBC and USFS can stop hiding him. Here is the Man who going to be one of the headliners for the 2026 Olympics so start giving him the respect and coverage he deserves. He could be the person to bring skating back in the United States.

And now: OMG, OMG, OMG! Super congrats to Ilia and well deserved. (thanks to his parents for coming to the U.S.) Didn't expect such a great skate from this young Master after the lukewarm one in the short. Then he had said he was injured. I love how he told Andrea Joyce that he didn't give up, no matter how he felt. I think he surprised himself. Great to see his dad so excited. That's right dear Ilia, you follow in Nathan's footsteps and then some. We are so lucky to have them both.

I just wish Jason had a more interesting LP. Never liked Impossible Dream. I hope he'll compete next season and do something really inspirational for World's in Boston...something to top 2016!

I think, with today's standards, the only way Ilia could up that technical content is to do a 4F+3Lo instead of a 4T+3T.

Ilia is incredible, magnificent! His jumps are stunningly beautiful, and he's an artist, performer, and wonderful with expression In. His. Own. Way.

That's the beauty of performance, expression and artistry. Everyone's is different. Everyone will have different people who love their style, their artistry, their musicality. We all appreciate what we appreciate. We all choose what we choose to love!

I'm so proud of him! And he mouthed the national anthem. And I love his personality. Wonderful answers to the questions ... and he gave credit to the audience for keeping him going.

They have already reduced the value of quads and they gave the 4A a base value that doesn't reflect it's difficultly. When someone with only triples (many of them landing short but tech panel slept on it once again) can finish 5th 10 points off a medal, the scoring is probably too far in favour of the non-jumpers.

Figure skating is dead? I will need to strongly disagree with this argument, I think it's more alive than ever and it's exciting to see its evolution.
Anything that doesn't evolve dies but in my humble opinion this is not the case with figure skating. We see a clear evolution in the sport by athletes and coaches not afraid of experimenting and seeing what they're capable of doing, and pushing the level higher and higher.

I agree, with the exception of the current women's field. They all have the same content, with many uninspired music choices and mental lapses. I find all but a few ladies hard to watch.

Artistry is subjective. PCS OTHO is not particulary subjective according to the criteria given by the ISU. Jason doing nothing for you is fine. I find Mone Chiba in the women's field to do absolutely nothing for me. But, she absolutely, according to the bullet points and objective parts of PCS, like SS, deserves high PCS. Jason doing nothing for you does not mean he isn't hitting every one of the PCS bullets. In the same way, that Ilya does not objectively hit a lot of those bullets despite the scores given by the judges. Adam (whose skating I also don't particulary enjoy) OTHO is hitting most of those bullets although his SS aren't on the same level as Shoma, Yuma, and Jason. What we enjoy does not equal PCS.( or it shouldn't as defined by the ISU)

He was apparently working a 4F in practices here, which was odd since he hasn't competed it all season.

The one I saw on video was a 4F-3T and it was beautiful.

Of course, for me, Jason. The outlier path, as Tracy Wilson called it, which only Jason can at this point carve. I cannot believe he is still gifting us with his skating and showing the world what skating can be when you are true to yourself.

When Ilia is on, there is no stopping him, that was quite a display.
TBH, Adam SHF gave me the same vibes. What a comeback!

Sad for Shoma, love Lukas and his quirky style, and Yuma will be a worthy adversary for years to come.

Also, yes, Adam's climb was epic, and Yuma's jumps are really fantastic live and he has lively power in his skating.

I was supersad that Cha wasn't quite recovered and I really want to see him in a competition where he skates well.

I also was happy to see Shaidorov despite it not being the best one for him and I hope he can develop further along the power and rink coverage, because he is super elegant.
