Sarina, Anna and Elyce are still Junior-eligible and might choose to compete on the JGP circuit instead. I guess we'll know pretty soon with Elyce, as the US Junior Team Cup is happening soon.

I wonder if anyone know anything about Minchae. She hasn´t been competing for a while, and didn´t even reach the final in the last competition she did, a local event in November, she placed 25th and scored 44 points in her SP. She didn´t compete at Korean Nationals..
Right now I do not think Dabin can be picked to replace at Skam since she technically isn´t top 10 at the replacement list, but as other said here, if some of the girls above her on the list will compete at JGP instead, she might be top 10 before they do the replacement. So who knows? But I wouldn´t put my bet on that. From my understanding it will mostly be up to the host to pick from top 10?
Hmmm... I think Sarina has a good chance to get a GP spot so i´m not sure she wants to stay in JGP. She perhaps has a chance to have a higher placement in JGP but it depends on what she wants to achieve. If she wants to collect most WR points GP potentially has more points to give for lower placements. Top 3 at JGP is worth less than top 7 at GP. However if she is in a very strong field in GP even making top 8 to get WR points can be difficult, because she might get underscored because of reputation. I do think it´s likely Anna will do JGP. And Elyce could perhaps podium at JGP.

I do not think Alexia Paganini has made any announcement but I havn´t seen her post anything about skating content in the last couple of months, she seems to have been doing a lot of travel instead. She did some ice shows early in the year. She used to post very frequent skating content on TikTok but has stopped. I have a feeling we won´t see her at least in the beginning of this season. Given the struggles she had last season and how strong the Swiss team is now she might be taking a break or go into retirement.
This would make the replacement list for women even shorter, I would actually not be surprised if Julia Sauter ended up getting a late spot if there will be more WD. We already know most likely 4 spots would need to be replaced.
I do not know if it´s in the case anymore, but Ting got injured after Worlds and had to stay off ice for a while, but it might just have been something minor/to be safe. But she might be uncertain as well depending on the injury.
On that note... since the women list is so short this year and some of them might not even be an option, what would happen if it turned out they came to the very end of the list and no more options for replacement? I think we can assume they would not allow more than 3 entries from one country in each discipline in this situation? Would they extend the replacement list above top 75, or would they start to offer spots from WR from top 25 and further? Or would the host pick freely? Or - will they be forced to leave a spot empty?
I´m assuming in this scenario there won´t be anyone new on the list due to winning a Challenger.

Even if the list is short this year, it's actually not very likely that there will be enough withdrawals to reach the end of the list. On average, in years not directly after the Olympics, there are 29 withdrawals across all four disciplines, which is probably approximately the number needed to reach the end of the replacement list for at least one GP.
This situation hasn't ever happened before, as far as I know, but I assume they'll leave the spot empty then. The minimum entry number for the singles disciplines and ice dance is 8 per GP, so 4 women per GP could withdraw and not be replaced without problems (hypothetically).

I have a question on why dabin choi cannot be picked as a replacement for Skate America. I don't understand the rules very well; the top 10 skaters on the list must be given priority?
As @Jumping_Bean showed in their list, Dabin Choi would be 10th on the replacement list assuming that all the listed alternates are confirmed to be competing in that discipline this season if not already assigned to a GP. That list is specific to Skate America.
The rule for alternates is:
The ranking will be different for each GP since there would be countries that have the maximum number of entries in one (such as a host, or a country that qualified many skaters for the series.) That takes them off the alternate list for that competition since they cannot be assigned. Or the alternate may already be assigned to that competition, so they would be skipped over.
And if anyone withdraws from an assignment, they will not be given another assignment as an alternate.

I had no idea that the replacement list was different for EACH grand prix. Logically, I guess it makes sense. But if haein is taken off the list for skate America, it's not automatically another Korean skater who takes her place?
It's not automatic that skaters are replaced with skaters from the same country. It's up to the host federation to decide who the replacement will be from the available alternates. USFS could decide to use Tzu-Han Ting for example, since she would be close by due to training in Toronto.

He is first on the Replacement List, but from what I'm reading in this thread, the order within the top 10 doesn't matter and hosts can pick any skater from the top 10, not necessarily going in order? I doubt he'll be the TBD for SA but it's possible. COC has one US Man, and the other GPs have two US Men. Andrew will be at IDF (if he doesn't get injured or ill between now and then). Replacing someone on the GP sort of feels like a lottery; either they pick you or they don't.

Thanks, I was looking for the rules myself and just got frustrated with the wrong link the ISU provided.
I thought the rules might have changed this year because of the very short list of women. But then again, it will be back to normal next year when former juniors can join.
I agree. I find it ridiculous with these groups-of-ten. It is much fairer to pick the first eligible one on the list. I find this rule just stupid.

I would also give one assignment to Dabin Choi. I have soft spot for her since her 7th place at the 2018 Olympic. She is lovely to watch and deserve a comeback to the international scene.
