I love Sota's skating, but am lukewarm to the program itself (too abstract and Fa-ish for me, I think a different type of music would suit Sota better). It's great to see him jump, what a relief. And he looked happy to see fans cheer at the end of the program. He bowed deeply to all 3 sides after his program, what a sweet gesture of him.
I concur, @KiraraChin , what made Sota WD from Kinoshita Trophy was apparently no serious injury or problems with Sota's bolts. I wouldn't necessarily say there was nothing serious other than health-related, as TBH, he seems a bit subdued to me in the GS photo. Who knows. But, he's able to skate and perform, and that's a reason for me to celebrate. I hope he is well otherwise, and wraps up the training camp successfully.

Sota's next Unlim talkshow is taking place in exactly a week:


He's going to talk about the training camp and show in Italy. I hope he gets asked about the costume mishap His FS costume should also be ready, so he's going to talk about it as well.

I hope he gets Nebelhorn, BTW... 3 top JPN boys got Italy already, and I'd like to see Kazuki and Tatsuya at Nepela (being the only ones without scheduling conflicts with N/A GP). Golden Spin overlaps with GPF , should Sota advance to it. There are no other Challengers in JSF calendar, and B events are for less points than CS. So... Nebelhorn or nothing for him, looks like. And if it's 'nothing', I'll be majorly peeved.

Actually, I just caught a glimpse of Sr. men's entry list to Asian Open Trophy (to be held in HK). And JSF sends Tatsuya and Nozomu there. So highly likely Sota and Kazuki might get Nebelhorn/Nepela? Hopefully....

About Sota winning chances, yup, Adam has said he'll be starting his season in October. But, let's not forget about Aymoz, Matteo, Jason, Lukas Britshgi, Roman Sadovsky, Frangipani, Egadze and Shaidorov, who will be very strong rivals if they end up going there. There's the returning Grassl, too. If Kazuki goes, Sota will have a fully equal rival. He'd better not go for the 4F there... And if everyone else falters, Deniss V is there, and will be ready to step up, despite lowertech content

Sota can't do Nepela, it overlaps with GP Canada. I'd love for him to compete there and it'd be way more affordable for me for sure, but he's not going there. So, it's looking like Nebelhorn or Croatia for him, but I can't imagine JSF sending him to Croatia if there's still a slight chance of him making the GPF. Whichever of Tatsuya/Nozomu ends up without 2 GP, should go to Zagreb, IMO, if I were JSF. (which might well be both)
OTOH, unless JSF are keeping Nepela just for their numerous women (as they should... the ladies deserve CS/B event opportunities), Kazuki could be well sent there. In that case, unless Nebelhorn has both Kazuki and Sota, I'll try to do my best to have two holidays.

I'm sorry to bring bad news. Sota Yamamoto is, with Junhwan Cha, one of the two Men skaters who are assigned to both Grand Prix trophies whose organisers have cancelled the Gala. Both were likely medallists too. His photo from last year's Skate Canada is on the poster:

and Sota himself tweeted about the upcoming Unlim fan meeting on Thursday, 29 Aug. He mentions 'upcoming matches' so hopefully his presence at Nebelhorn will be confirmed by then
