The USFS will only have 2 Ladies for the LA Worlds... Much depends on how they place to cover the 13 points for the 3 places for the Olymics (and the 2010 Worlds) Regardless of the Cleveland results, I believe the USFS has a right to send whichever two they wish. to earn 3 spots for the Olys

Which two do you believe will be the best bet for the USFS for 13 points at the LA Worlds? Remember they will be facing: Asada, Kim, Nakana, Kostna, Meier,Rochette

Others to think about: Bebe, Angela, Ashley, Alyssa, Chrissie, Becky, Melissa, Katrina, and maybe Blake Rosenthal.

Also, maybe we should wait and see who advances from Regionals and Sectionals first? (ETA: as well as how the Jr. and Sr. Grand Prix seasons turn out this fall/winter?)

Byes to 2009 Nationals (for placing top 5 at '08 Nats): Nagasu, Flatt, Wagner, Zhang, Liang.
Byes through Sectionals in November due to their Senior Grand Prix event(s): Hacker, Meissner, E. Hughes (as long as she places top 4 at North Atlantic Regionals)
Byes through Regionals in October due to international assignment(s) and/or for being Sectional sr. champion last year: Hacker, Meissner, Bulanhagui, Czisny, Bereswill, Victorsen, Kahle, Oberstar, A. Gilles, Rizo, Musademba (Maxwell if she receives a 2nd JGP).
Currently scheduled for Regionals (skaters that have previously competed as a senior at Nationals within the past 2 years): Chrissy Hughes, Karen Zhou, Megan Hyatt, Laney Diggs, Emily Hughes, Taylor Firth
Currently scheduled for Regionals who have competed/scored well in club competitions this summer as a senior and have landed either 3flip and/or 3lutz: Angelyn Nguyen, Anna Malkova, Joelle Forte, Blake Rosenthal...

I believe that if Mirai Nagasu and Caroline Zhang do very well hear as I expect in the GP Series, no question they will be the top two going to worlds in LA.

Other contenders I see breaking in the top two is Rachael Flatt and Ashley Wagner.

I think that if veterans Kimmie Meissner and Emily Hughes want to finish in the top two and go to worlds they are going to have to step it up and start really hit their jumps and triple-triples

US Figure Skating cannot send whichever two they wish, they must send the National Champion (if age eligible) and the other choice is at their discretion.

Will be interesting to see if that "choice of second spot" rule. The possibilities for controversy are simply endless

I think for the Ladies, the GPs will give us some idea of which skaters are looking good for gold and silver in Cleveland cum LA.

For the Men, they get 3 skaters. Given Johnny and Even as locks, who will be number 3? Bradley? Rippon? Carriere? Abbot? and given the Nationals: if they're Senior eligible: Dornbush?, Johnson?

For Pairs. I think they get 2 (please correct, if not) McL/Bru, In/Bal, Cast/Okol, Evora/Ladwiq, Vise/Trent?

For Skate Dance: They get 3 teams. Given B/A, D/W, are locks, who will be number 3? S/B? N/B? W/B? S/G? and for Nats: H/H?

I think we will see 25 (!) ladies at U.S. Nationals:

And then 12 ladies from Sectionals!
