Shoma Uno

It’s too late, but I just wanted to post.
This is a kind of my diary.

I put on a Colantotte necklace and had a UNO bag and went somewhere.
I went up the stairway to heaven. (I took the escalator) and took some photos and videos.
I drank something special at a cafe. (Quad Flip violet latte)
And I just realized I came one hour earlier because I was too excited and nervous.
But it was no problem at all.
I could attend Special Talk Live.
It was sooo happy and I enjoyed so much because I’ve never attended invent like this.
I just want to tell I was surprised that Shoma was sooo kawaii.
After the event, Shoma, Hirokazu, and Yoji were waiting for fans and said “Arigato gozaimashita.”
I go to ice shows and sometimes my seat is second row and I can see his face clearly, but this time too close.
How to say, Shoma was shining.

It was very special day for me.
Sorry for my English.

Your English is excellent!

It was announced on the 25th that Shoma Uno, who retired last season, will be appointed as the special ambassador for Fuji TV's figure skating broadcast for the 2024-25 season. During his active career, Uno achieved many outstanding results in domestic and international competitions, including becoming the first Japanese man to win the World Championships twice in a row and winning Olympic medals in two consecutive tournaments, and was loved by many fans as a top-of-the-line athlete.

After retiring from active competition, he turned professional. He continues to fascinate fans as always, but he has decided to take on a new challenge to use his experience and knowledge to contribute to the further spread and development of figure skating.Uno, who is admired not only by fans but also by current athletes, draws out the human charm of each athlete through coverage and interviews, and sheds light on their technical aspects through commentary and analysis. This season is also expected to be the preseason for the Milan Olympics in 2026, and he will convey the appeal of figure skating at the All Japan Championships in December and the World Championships in March next year.

◆Comment from Uno Shoma: "I would like to use the experience I have gained from my active career to convey the appeal of figure skating to everyone in an easy-to-understand way from an athlete's perspective

Does this mean he will go to the world championships?! I think if I remember correctly they will be in the US next year.

I don't think the original Japanese necessarily implies that Shoma will physically be there, although the probability that he'd be there is quite high. (Remote commentary is a possibility too.) I'll have to take a closer look at the article when I'm less sleepy, but I'm guessing it's an 85% chance that he'd physically be there. 😁

Yes, the World Figure Skating Championships will be in Boston next year, although I seriously doubt that he'd be accessible to the public as a member of the media. I was hoping to spot Marin last year, but no luck. 😅 Despite this exciting news, I don't think I would go all the way to Boston just for the chance to spot Shoma...something big would have to happen for me to change my decision to not go to Boston (like, maybe Amber Glenn having the best season of her career? A girl can dream 😁).

(Although I have been a little bit lucky with interacting with members of the figure skating media, I don't think my experiences can applied to most fans. 😅)

I already have my Boston tickets and am hoping he will be there in person, although that doesn't necessarily mean he would be seen by the public. One can always hope though!...Come on @yuumagical! The men's alone is gonna be worth the price of the ticket! U.S. women might make things interesting too...Maybe at this point Fuji TV is still figuring out the details of exactly how they want to use him.

WOW:love: Fuji TV.:hap10:

I'm so proud of Shoma! I really hope he can utilize the full range of his experiences in the figure skating world in his commentary! As an introvert, I have to admit I'm a little worried about him being in a public-facing position, but all I can do is hope for the best for our sweet little Shoma and know that whatever happens, he will have at least fulfilled his promise to try something new. 😁

I am having a very very busy week but just dropping in to say Shoma looks soooo gorgeous in this suit. And it seemed everything went well for his first MC job! I love his advice at the beginning of the press conference to the skater to be able to fail and learn and grow from the failure- which Kaori also agreed with, saying that with failure comes different perspective that you don't have if you never failed. As expected from the skaters who have been World King and is currently World Queen.

New photos from L'Apprenti Sorcier, taken by Verit:
I saw on X that Verit is selling her calendars again. They are REALLY beautiful, and you can have it custom made with many different options. I bought one from her and loved it!
