I did even worse here. Challengers are harder for me somehow.
Now having seen it, I think it is a technically challenging dance requiring a lot of depth of edge and power to execute. It is different from their usual style of deep edges and knees and skimming the ice. It also seemed to take a bit more concentration resulting in less presentation. As their skills grow with this program, the two should balance out better and the story will be more visible. I think it could be quite beneficial for them but maybe not everyone’s favorite program of theirs.
That was last years program that we never got to see at Worlds. Emily had some injury this summer and they decided to keep it for this year. Their understanding of the theme and emotions has only grown and is elegantly done with style, grace and a lot of power. Their matching lines are lovely.
Really tough battle. May come down to who skates best under pressure and captures the audience.
It was a more traditional Carmen for Christina & Anthony who have such marvelous and reliable technical skills. Several cheeky moments are seeded into the program to bring it to life. Right now it is more of a technical program with the artistry needing to grow a bit for them. It is the kind of program that will show artistic growth as the season goes on.
