Cheers for Oda's triumphant return to competition! :party2:

Wow! Brezina ahead of Verner by over 5 points:bow::bow:!

5th is very good for Dennis Phan, too. Likewise 9th for Igor Macypura. In fact, no falls till you get down to Joey Russell in 11th. It must have been a wonderfully skated event, and I do hope there will be videos!

Happy that Oda is back on track.

Brezina doing so well in the basically, Senior Division. He will make a big statement in the JGP Finals and be a strong contender for Senior Worlds next year. The kid got it all and there will be a quad, I am sure.

Aww Tomas  His TES are low but there's no deductions. I guess he singled some jumps.

He did 3T-3T. And his axel wasn't really popped, but landed forward and stepped off, thus downgraded. They say he also got very low levels on spins.

  Nobu!

Honestly speaking, I was sooo afraid for him. Not only he said that Nikolai works with him to change his jumping technique (which might have temporarily messed up his jumps altogether), but people present at Nebelhorn said he looked really nervous!

I really hope he'll be able to get a second GP assignment and 4CC... His PCS scores dropped to what they had been like in his first senior season and it will probably take a season's worth of competitions to pay his dues again. :ohwell:

Poor Tomas, that's some low TES. :( He'll have to work hard not to lose his national title to Michal!

Holy crap! With that score Oda would have been on the podium at last Worlds!

What is happening with Tomas? And who is that kid in second, never heard of him. He beat Oda on the technical mark!

I think you'll be hearing a lot more about him soon. ;) Brezina won Nebelhorn last year, finished 5th at Junior Worlds and so far this season has won two JGP gold medals with big scores, and now the silver medal here. He has a consistent triple axel.

I'm delighted for Oda. He's not my favorite skater, but seems like a genuinely nice person and I am thrilled for his sucess after his personal problems last year.

However, I'm very sad for Tomas :(

Congratulations to Nobunari on a great start to the season.
I think this victory means a lot to him.

And actually, he didn't even skate clean. Those were his jumping passes:
3A-3T-3L, 3Lz, 3S, 2A, 3F-3T, 3Lz-2T, 2A, 1A

I think the first 2A is a reserved pass for a quad, and one of the final axels was meant to be a triple. Quite risky IMHO, the spins and steps probably take up a lot of his stamina... But if he lands it, the TES are going to be huge! Lovely 3A-3T-3L already gives him a lot of points.

He is former Nebelhorn Trophy champion and currently doing great in the Junior GP series. :)

Do you have pairs' SP notes(sbs jumps/throws/twists). Could you care to comment under pairs' thread?

Well it is nice to see Nobunari Oda back and at top form where he belongs

I am now convinced that Michal Brezina could be the next break out star in Europe. I see World and Olympic medals in his future.

Is Brezina going to be eligible to participate at the 2010 Olympics? If so, he will definitely be a dark horse/spoiler in the men's competition

Michal will be eligible, he will be 19 in 2010, but will his country have more than 1 spot? They will have 1 for LA, and it's difficult to tell, will it go to Tomas or to Michal and how any of them will do there.

It would be a crime for Michal Brezina to not be able to compete at the Olympics IMO. Absolutely love his skating (and him for that matter lol). But he would definitely be a dark horse contender.
Poor Tomas though! Is it possible that he may have an injury that we don't know about? Or is it just confidence issues? I've been a bit out of the loop when it comes to him...
And I'm happy for Oda! Getting back on track.
