2024 CS PGE Warsaw Cup Women's SP

Funny how Canada has finally allowed their second tier skaters to compete internationally and they perform well enough to contend for medals.
I woke up this morning and watched the Mongolian athlete and then saw Katherine perform. I’m so happy for her. I hope she does well enough in the free skate to hang on to a podium spot. I think she should get her 4CC minimums here. If she gets the Worlds minimums, I would be ecstatic

She got the 4CC minimums already, she needed 26.31 in the short to get them. She was at Cranberry Cup last year, so she came in needing just a good short to get them :)

Yes!! Yippee!!! What does she need in the free skate for Worlds minimum?
I’m assuming Kaiya has no chance to reach the Worlds minimums here after her low scoring SP 🫣

She needs 57.13 for Worlds, which she could do based on past results. But she's skating last after placing first in the short, so new situation for her.

Kaiya will need 59.42, she narrowed the gap slightly at SCI. Her best TES in the free this season was at Denis Ten Memorial, 54.70. She has a chance, but she'll have to skate like she has at Nationals in the free.

I think Kaiya might be a bit burnt out at the moment.

Plus a coaching change, I'm not expecting her to be consistent this season if she's adjusting her technique.
She just seems to be looking tired at the moment. I hope that she doesn't compete again until Nationals. She needs some down time and also time to adjust to all the changes.

I think Challenge will be the last competition before Nationals for anyone who isn't going to GPF. It's optional for Kaiya, I'm not expecting to see her there (or most of the other skaters who've been competing internationally the last two weeks and qualify for a bye.) Competing more is good, but I agree, they need down time between competitions too.
