GG has a lot of potential, but he needs a good coach by his side. Very raw material.

From what I've seen posted/reported in various places, it seems they used most of their money in relocating. They probably can't afford better coaching at the moment. I doubt he gets much, if any, funding from the fed with being so new.

Even if he weren't new, German skaters don't get much funding one way or the other.

He was included in the team of the regional fed (Bayern) very fast, means Ice and coach for free as long as he stays in Oberstorf

That's good. I know it's harsh on skaters who have been in the German system their whole career, but he has the potential to earn things like a higher number of JGP spots for Germany and that would benefit other skaters there.

I know, Germany isn't very good for funding - although I understand it is at least better than here!

Well, I enjoyed both sets of juniors today. I think I need to find a way of organising my work around them tomorrow.

The first part of Day 4 is all about Ice Dancing. And we start with the Pattern Dances. 3 Intermediate Novice partnerships first; then 4 Advanced Novice partnerships.

They are doing it in the format that I don't like, where each level does both sets of pattern dances back-to-back. And I'm not actually watching, as I am now concentrating on the Russian Championships. So I will do combined posts for each level.

And I apologise as well for not noticing that the first two Pairs competitions were actually splitting the Ice Dancers.

We now take a break from the Ice Dancing for some Pairs Skating. 3 Nachwuchs (Advanced Novice) partnerships; followed by 2 Junior Partnerships.

Interesting. We have the Senior Men starting soon in Russia, and the Junior Men starting now in Germany. Here, we have 7 boys.

And much to my surprise, we are staying on the same stream for the Juniors.

He was fine yesterday. Had triples and 2A. Seems to have been a complete jump meltdown today. Only triple today was a badly landed flip and the axels were singles.
