Daniil Valanov is going to EYOF, so that is why he is not going to Nordics. It seems it´s crashing. It also says that it could be changes to junior women because spot to EYOF is not decided for the women.

Nice to see Ella Risa Gomez get one of the spots in novice. One year ago there was an interview with the Risa Gomez family and about how much the whole family invested in the daughters skating. Ella said she hoped to get a spot at Nordics last year, but she did not get one. So great to see that she achieved one of her goals this season - she has been dreaming to compete at Nordics for years.

The entries has actually been out for some days now, I just forgot to post about them

Entries and result page: https://kunstlopresultater.no/2024-2025/2025_02_Nordics_test/index.htm

Lara Naki is not on the entries, so I guess she is not going after all. I already thought it seemed unlikely because she is doing both WUG and Euros.

Except skaters from Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway there is only one other ISU members in ladies. The resultpage doesn´t show the flags but I recognize most names as Nordic skaters. Only exception is Patricia Skopanic. Never heard of her, looked her up and she seems to skate for Croatia but it doesn´t seem like she has done any competitions since 2022, so that is interesting!

17 entries overall is not bad in senior women.

Janna Jyrkinen is out, but I guess perhaps the same reason as Lara Naki, she is also doing WUG and Euros, that would have been 3 weeks in a row.

I guess you would be happy to see @TT_Fin that all the Finnish ladies subs has been given a spot. I think after the deadline and there were so few entries from other countries they open up for extra spots for the Nordic skaters - Kaia Kleven is going as well and was listed as sub. So there will be 6 Finnish ladies, 4 Norwegian ladies, and 5 Swedish ladies - including Josefin!

With 5 different ISU members and 17 entries overall it´s enough of skaters for ranking points in senior women - but it would require that the Danish skater and the Croatian skater doesn´t both WD.

Junior women is looking good, 24 skaters. I´m confused about Casper Johansson though, it says he is doing both junior and senior men.

The home page has a link for livestream. I wonder if it will be free or paid.
I hope it´s free. Nordics last year in Sweden was a paid stream, but I think it´s up to the organizers. Since they havn´t put on any information yet I think it´s a good sign. Sonja Henie Trophy last year was free. If they are doing the same as at Nationals, there will be a free stream, but you have to fill out a form with your e-mail to get a code to get access to the stream, but they don´t want you to share the code with everyone. I think that is a good way to do it.

Mihail Selevko is not on the entry list, but a quota from his GS interview on ig: " Next for me, I’ll skate the Nordics, a smaller competition where I want to try to go all-in with a lot of quads and try what is possible, and then I hope to go to Worlds.”"

Hmmm. Maybe he or GS is mixing it up with Sonja Henie Trophy? Because the entries were published yesterday, and both him and French Adam is on the entries for men 😱 Seems like a quick turnout to go to Nordics - I know lot of the Nordic skaters do but they are closer to home. Well we will see, maybe he actually will do both?

Do we have the full list of skaters for the Sonja Henie Trophy?

Yes it must be so. I think it makes more sense. Most Finns usually like to go to Nordics if there are not big competitions close. The reason often is they try to get scores to get a spot to WC or minimums - are there enough skaters in men this time?

Let's hope for the better. At least this event will be free as the other three next week will have paid streams (though I am not quite sure yet about Egna Dance Trophy but last 2 or 3 years it had a paid stream). As for registering I don't think it will be a problem as I have some experience now after watching Norwegian Nationals last December.

I've edited the following into the post I put up in the Sonja Henie Trophy thread last night, but just realised it might be useful here too.

If you want to keep an eye out for possible streams, here is the link to the Norwegian Fed's Vimeo channel:

And their YouTube channel:

EDIT: Actually, they have a separate YouTube channel that they use for livestreaming:

Hope this helps

Matias Lindfors is not Finland's spring spots list, but he is on the entry list. So maybe he has been injured but recovered faster than expected. The fed's list is not updated for a while as there are still missing JWC participants too.
