Only a scant handful of skaters have made over 200 for the FS in any Nationals, despite the home scoring everywhere. Well done.
Actually I have tried to check and as far as I can see Yuma is the third - the third - to ever do it worldwide. Unless anyone knows more. Eve if there is, that's pretty august company.

Disappointing competition in a pre-Olympic season. I mean, Yuzu scored 319 and 322 at his last two Nationals, and Yuma can't even get over 300 points. The pressure will be a lot more intense next year, so they all need to do much better.

He’s definitely not if you’re talking about any Nationals. But if you’re just talking about Japan, then…yes, that’s about right.
Who else? I know Nathan and Yuzuru...

Huge congratulations to Yuma, Rio and Tatsuya! 🎉
Not quite the podium I expected but very happy with it nevertheless!

So glad that Yuma has regained his confidence. That 4F was a thing of beauty!

Rio's performance was the skate of the day for me! So happy that he was able to land that 4Lo and skate clean afterwards. By the end of his program I was so overcome with emotions!

Tatsuya has always been special to me since I saw him win that JWC bronze live here in Tallinn. This season has been so amazing for him and I couldn't be more happy!

While I yield to no one in partisanship here, let's be fair to Yuma: Ilia Malinin taking over the mantle in the US from Chen and his 300+ scores didn't manage over it last year or the year before either. They both have time on their sides.

Siao Him Fa and Petr Gumenik. That’s just off the top of my head.
Okay, I stand corrected, that makes four (I can't tell the Russians apart and I tried to find Adam's score, mea culpa). Still a hell of an elite group considering how Nats, especially in the US and Russia, but pretty much everywhere except Japan, are overscored.

I am crying in the hotel room in Osaka. My two most favorites, Sota and Shun, had completely bombed😭That’s not why I traveled long way from Sendai to Osaka.
Yesterday, I blamed the ice, because it was so cold in the venue, but I maybe wrong since it wasn’t not so cold today. What haapped to all boys, except Nobu & Rio?

I am still in shock, but I have to say that I am so happy to witness Nobu’s last national, which I had been thinking I missed forever.

Predictions:

Worlds - Yuma, Shun, Tatsuya
4CC - Yuma, Tatsuya, Kazuki

🤔...maybe if Yuma WDs from Asian Winter Games (then Sota can go instead)
If not, sending Yuma to Universiade in mid~end of January, AWG the week before 4CC, then 4CC too sounds like a recipe for illness and or injury prior to WC

JSF has made poor choices and sometimes greedy decisions in the past but exhausting their top Man before a WC determining number of Oly spots would be absolutely foolish

I agree with the Worlds team, but Kagiyama won’t be going to 4CC because the Asian Winter Games is the week before. 4CC will most likely be Sato, Tsuboi, Tomono.

BREAK
I hate hate hate standoffs. I highly doubt there will be a stand-off at 4CC for the third spot. It’s not necessary and JFed thankfully doesn’t normally do it. (I disagreed with them sending the dance teams last year. But dance in Japan is not comparable to singles at all.)

What an awful Men's competition...not unusual for Japanese Nats 😞

Probably not proper to say but I feel better about the fact that Shun and Kao can feel sad together
wow... looking at these results... i wonder how many points most players made at the prediction game..
