Shoma Uno

Thank you for the welcome:) I remember reading about how you went to the rink to watch Shoma practicing and his mom gave you kit kats (or skittles?) and I thought that was so sweet
Believe it or not, I still have a few of those VERY STALE Kit Kats. They were actually given to several of us by Shoma. It was really nice that he would give gifts to the coach, his fellow skaters at the rink, etc.

Here's the photo one of the moms took when he came in the stands to deliver the candies. That's my arm there. Naturally, I cut myself out of the photo! LOL.

I hadn't heard the Kit Kat story before! Were they ordinary milk chocolate Kit Kats or were they in one of the unusual Japanese flavors? I have to admit, I enjoy Kit Kats quite a bit, particularly when it comes to Japanese Kit Kats...I wouldn't have had the willpower to not eat one of Shoma's Kit Kat bars! 😅

A very good question: What is your favorite song among the songs Shoma has used for his programs?

I try to interpret this as not my favorite program but my favorite music piece / song Shoma has used, and I think for me it has to be Fantasy for Violin and Orchestra for his Ladies in Lavender SP in 2016-2017. The reasoning is because I know how most of his music or songs sound like before I watch his programs, and I think out of them LiL was the one that surprised me with how good it sounds. I was totally underestimating it, especially since I was just dipping my toes back in to following figure skating so I missed the previous Lavenders by other skaters.

And then Shoma basically skated to a lot of songs that I already put into my playlist: Gravity by John Mayer, Padam Padam as performed by Patricia Kaas, Come Together as performed by Gary Clark Jr., anything performed by Jakub Jozef Orlinski... so it's all like.. thanks for skating to all the songs I like, Shoma 😂 I even had Fuji TV Bolero on my playlist BEFORE Shoma skated to it, because I enjoyed the suspense of that song a lot, lol.

Dancing on My Own
LOCO

That’s a hard one. Probably Air on the G String with Mea tormenta, properate.

I'll see what kinds of goods I can get when I get to the Uno Cafe next month! Fingers crossed that there will still be some cute merchandise left! 🤞
Maybe you could take an extra mega suitcase and fill it with Uno goods! That would make your fellow dead bananas so happy! Hope you have a great time and that you get to meet Emma , Tree, and Mother. So jealous!

Honestly, I'm a little less certain about being able to get there than being able to get to Yakiniku Rion (I think I'll get to these places on separate days), but again, fingers crossed! No expectations and a lot of hope!

Edit: As you may have surmised, I have done surprisingly little planning for this trip. 😂
