It's fixed! Shoma said he's looking on it to figure out why this morningHello, everyone. Does anyone know why the memberships are halted or frozen (I don't know which word is needed to translate what I read on my e-mail in my native language) on Shoma's YouTube channel? The page says members won't be charged until memberships are open again.
Thanks for the information. It's fixed! Shoma said he's looking on it to figure out why this morning![]()

On 9 May 2024, Shoma Uno announced on his Instagram that he will retire from active competition. Currently, as a professional figure skater, he spends his busy days not only on ice shows but also as a Fuji TV special ambassador for figure skating, TV and magazine work. When asked what he does in his daily life to keep his body in shape, he laughs.
"I'm sure everyone else has a better lifestyle than me (laughs). If I had to say what I did, I would say taking a bath. Is that too obvious (laughs)? I like to soak in hot water, so I warm myself in the bathtub. The temperature of the water is about 41 degrees Celsius. If it's more than that, it's a bit hot, and if it's less than 40 degrees, it's a bit lukewarm. I take a bath not to get fit, but simply because I like taking a bath."
What are your goals as a professional figure skater?
"I've been thinking a lot lately about which is better: those who can perform in various genres or those who have their own unique strengths. I think that if you can do various genres, you will be selected for various roles in ice shows, but I also want to develop my own strengths. I'm still searching for how I should progress as a professional. But I'm the type of person who finds it more rewarding to improve what I can't do than to keep improving what I can do. That's why I want to challenge myself in various ways and become a skater who can do multiple things."
Last September, Uno played the role of the main character Luffy in the ice show ‘One Piece on Ice: Episode of Alabasta’ based on the popular comic ‘ONE PIECE’. In addition to the ‘my own colour’ that he has built up over the years, he showed a side of himself that is almost the complete opposite of his calm and quiet character, and can even play a character with an energetic smile and a burst of energy. We can't take our eyes off Uno, who is sure to take on new challenges as he goes along.
New interview with Shoma for ESSE Magazine! The photos are different cuts from the Life on Ice magazine, hehe. It's a cute fluff interview, where Shoma talks about his way to maintain his health (good baths) while working as a professional figure skater.

Some translated quotes. He's very specific about his bath, LOL.
Also some perspective on how he's approaching being a professional figure skater.
Playing Luffy is definitely one of the most out-of-character project Shoma has ever undertaken so far, which I thought was really cool. To see him who isn't known as to play comical or even skate his programs like an "actor" (he's always more of a "musician" type for me) play such a character was a nice surprise, and he had the opportunity to play Luffy in 2 years too, which allows him to grow in how he wants to express Luffy and his emotions. And Luffy's role in the story they adapted is pretty good to really take on various expressions.
I think it made me think about... well, he learned a lot from playing very much against his type, so the possibilities is pretty much endless. Would be interesting to see whether there are any opportunities like this in the future. Ah, I missed him skating so much!
He did I Love You/ Clair de Lune/ EEAO SP for the afternoon performance. It's been rearranged to have 2 jumps for the shows. Some photos from Prince Ice World in Nagasaki are starting to come. Here's Sho with Rio. Word has it that he did last season's SP. During the afternoon performance, he skated to Moonlight Shomata.
What's the likelihood that he'll perform to this again in Tokyo? I'd love to see a show version of EEAAO!He did I Love You/ Clair de Lune/ EEAO SP for the afternoon performance. It's been rearranged to have 2 jumps for the shows.

Not sure about this... last year he did different programs for PIW Tokyo (January 2024, DOMO) and PIW Shiga (February 2024, Timelapse) but that could be because of the proximity to Worlds...What's the likelihood that he'll perform to this again in Tokyo? I'd love to see a show version of EEAAO!
Also, was the evening performance the same as or different from the one in the afternoon?
