2025 U.S. Nationals Senior Men's Free Skate

Great job by Camden - maybe some generous judging. But now what as predicted Ilia and Andrew to worlds. So happy for Cam - school and skating and he is a national bronze medallist BUT what doesUUSFA do about worlds. Camden has struggled balancing school and high level skating but did enough at nationals clearly. Jason is the veteran and a beautiful skater. But whether it be due to injury, equipment or just getting old perhaps he is not progressing technicaly and his two GP for whatever reason were not even strong enough to win a medal. I have always said While Jason is an amazing skater he is a bit lucky because had skaters like Cha, All three Japanese men,, his compatriots and Keegan when he was skating,, the Italians and French because of the lack of tech Jason could be pushed even out of the top ten this year regardless of the reason he looks to be pushed out of the top ten so what does USFA do? With Illa we will at worst get a world medal. So we just need someone in the top ten. It may be time to look to the future

Ok. So after this event, here are my picks for selection:

JR. Worlds - Jacob, winner of Junior nationals (I didn’t even see that event)

4CC - Andrew, Camden, Max

SR. Worlds - Ilia, Andrew and Jason 😳
- After arguing against Jason all day yesterday, I deliberated between Camden and Jason and chose in favour of Jason by 60/40 decision. Camden is too 🌵 and 4CC is a gift for him and Max. We need a skater that can score 240+ internationally and I think if Jason regains his 3A, he is the one 🫣)

I'd pick Camden for worlds. Nothing against Jason. But I think Camden did enough and really has turned his season around.

That was an amazing group - you had youth, a james bond robot, a dramatic comeback from Max, a valiant fight from Jimmy, Camden keeping his promise that he could skte well, Andrew exceeding all expectations and Ilia showing us that he has supernatural talent and gave us a spectacular vampire complete will a spine of steel. What an event. Proud of all the guys - this was a hard fight, each had some brilliant moments. Now have a rest fellas and heal up for whatever is next.

Guys, does Jason has grounds for petitioning at all..? If not, who do you think will get that 3rd spot??
he does have grounds but I don't think the strongest. His Grand Prix have been less than stellar. There were signs in the last couple ofyears other could pass him in the uS. I just don't think they are that compelling - he is no longer a guaranteed ttop 6 or 8 or even 10 now.

Technical prowess? Most definitely.
Otherwise? He still has a bit more improving to do, but he'll get there- don't worry
I checked and Hanyu has two Olympic golds and two Worlds… Nathan one Olympic gold and three worlds. If Ilia wins two more worlds and Olympics, he will be the one.

Just love his attack on his jumps. Should be lower on PCS though….
I think he would have scored 310+ internationally.

Andrew though…..Wow 🤩

The big question is can Jason regain the 3A? Has he landed it all season? I can't recall.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching Jason skate, and if he were granted a spot on the team, I would be happy for him and the chance to see him skate again.

I wouldn't want to be the on the panel that has to make this decision! LOL

He was struggling to land the 3A if I remember correctly...if he can fix that by worlds then I genuinely don't see why USFS shouldn't prioritize him over Camden, who has a less-than-stellar Worlds performance...Jason has the experience and has been consistent up until this season (which given his justifications, I don't think we should write him off)

Andrew can get top 10. And the third man just needs to make the final so a short program score of 74.
