2025 European Championships Men's Short Program

I’m happy about it but 8 would never had bet Samoilov would’ve been top 3 after the short!

yeah... the forum keeps asking me if i am a bot... and then let's me in... but cannot post easily... i guess it's understandable... must be seeing a lot of traffic with current disastrous news + euros at the same time Euros
Happy it is working for you. But GS pretty much shut down for me until I logged in without my VPN enabled. Canadians can watch ISU Skating YouTube Euros Champs streams non-geoblocked but many others cannot. :)

I'm sorry, and I know this will generate a tempest in a teapot...

But Kevin did not deserve the second highest PCS for this effort. YES he's typically a beautiful skater, but the mistakes DID impact the overall quality of the program. There were several instances of him just slogging around the ice - enough that I feared he might get an interruption deduction - and the energy and spark of the program were lost.

I get that this was not a field of John Curry's out there, but 41+ in PCS for that is ridiculous.

I was surprised as well, but I assume they wanted to make sure he made the free skate.

I think this was partially due to judges being too generous on PCS for the skaters before him - judged in a vacuum yeah, this should be lower, but seeing how people with way worse components/performance got mid-30s, the judges pretty much had to go there (tho maybe not quite that high). Second thing is that, once again the three components don’t get differentiated much in the scores, some of todays programs were prime examples where composition/presentation/skating skills should’ve been 2-3 points apart. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But the biggest differences today were in the area of .5 points.

I strongly object to this brand of score manipulation. Just as I objected to score manipulation via the tech panel at US Nationals (IMO).

It is not the judges' job to make sure Kevin makes the free skate.
I agree, but well, his free is a better program.
