I have just watched, did not understand much, but enjoyed a lot! Lots of great footage, both from backstage and from the show itself, which is great when we consider Yuzu is not present on the terrestrial TV much since he left competitions. So it was good for his visibility and expanding the audience, and also gave the casual viewers access to some of the greatest skating of the modern times! Echoes is a true masterpiece so it's good to give more people a chance to see at least some big parts of it!
I have also seen very complimentary notes from Persona 3, Ghost in the Shell, Steiner's Gate and Medallist fans as well as from casual viewers. Awesome!!!

I have only half hopes of TV Asahi posting it on their Youtube channel, with or without subtitles, and I really wouldn't mind advertisings in between, in fact I think that I have never seen ads with so much gratitude as during this program which was wonderful, and there was even an ad (for Rakuten) with the one and only Nomura Mansai, who among (many) others, played Abe no Seimei in two Onmyoji films, advised Yuzuru Hanyu on how to interpret him in his Seimei program, and will be the special guest at Notte Stellata 2025; but the music copyrights may be too high for this to happen.
Yet I must say that in spite of my usual refraining on watching that sort of streaming, I did watch this broadcast and it was so well built with such exceptional material, extracts of Echoes of Life (with some complete programs) and behind-the-scenes sequences, with parts of the interview of Yuzuru Hanyu by Shuzo Matsuoka between sequences! This really was a gem of a broadcast.

And the livestream of Chiba Day 2 for China has been confirmed today, too, joining BeyondLive streaming for the rest of the world. :rock::rock::rock:
But mind you, SMG Great Sports Media speak about "winning the exclusive copyright for China" (wow!?) and they plan to have an offline event in addition to the stream. Could they mean the cinema live viewing in Shanghai again?
 
So, in addition to the 70,000+ tweets posted in response to the Echoes special broadcast on TV Asahi on Sunday, Telasa viewership ranking today shows Echoes in the 1st place (predictable after the great promo it was just given), but also Re_Pray in the second! Yay! Just great seeing so many new fans turning to Yuzu after they had a chance to see what he is doing as a pro! Lots, lots of comments from those watching for the first time and praising the show(s) he created and the artist he has become!

Along with a great quote from one of the costume designers, Mr Toshihiko Sakurai, from the latest edition of Soen, one of the most respectable Japanese fashion magazines, bringing a special on wonderful Yuzuru costumes for Echoes and interviews with their three designers, including Satori Ito, Takeshi Takahashi and the quoted Toshihiko Sakurai. Fun fact - the designers consulted the costume details with Mikiko, the artistic director and one of the choreographers to make them best fit the overall vision of the show.
No need to mention the costumes were highly praised by the editors :love:

So, it's official that the reason for restricting the ability to view to a very few browsers is to prevent illegal sharing.
But this also means that between Echoes of Life in Chiba Day 2 (live streaming) and the period of availability of the archive; and between the end of this availability and an hypothetical release of DVDs/Blu-Rays or availability elsewhere, people who actually bought the ticket and hoped to keep a copy for themselves, won't be able to do so...
 
CS TV Asahi's new gorgeous billboard for their broadcast of Echoes of Life in Chiba Day 2 on the coming Sunday, February 9, is welcoming those arriving in Tokyo Station (you can find precise directions in Marika's post below). Telasa multi-cam service - which is also a part of Asahi TV - will start broadcasting the Chiba show from February 23. :love:

A huge promo video for Echoes is displayed in the Lalaport Tokyo Bay, a huge shopping mall with many restaurants and cinemas in Chiba, seemingly with a dual purpose of promoting the Echoes among the mall visitors, and drawing fans arriving in the city for the shows to visit the mall (which they do, of course) :rock:

I've seen reports of advertising screens everywhere in this neighbourhood promoting Echoes of Life. As it is sold out (except maybe resales, I didn't see them for Chiba; and those tickets that get available only when lighting, cameras etc are in place), could we suppose that the objective is to welcome fans?

Right, maybe it is to welcome fans and create the right environment. Remember that Toyo Keizai article on Yuzu, Saga and Hanyuconomy? Especially for these smaller towns, such a show is an important event, an opportunity not just to have visitors, but to make them feel happy and appreciated, and appreciate the city back which means they spend money now, but they also leave with happy memories, liking the city, more likely to come back or tell others to visit. On a more immediate note, fans are probably more likely to choose to have lunch, to dine or shop at a place that is welcoming them with some show ads or decorations, where they feel more... yes, as you said it, welcome. So, in the end of the day, it might also be about competing for clients from the crowd. See, how many of those newly arriving already read on their SNMs of Lalaport Tokyo Bay, with all its many shops and restaurants? So they go there to see 12 screens with 12 Yuzus, but they also plan to have lunch there and buy souvenirs. So, other venues feel they should do the same... and I guess, this is how it is rolling.
On a more tangible note, though, I think they might also be promoting the show broadcasts on TV Asahi and Telasa. :)
