Unfortunately, this event also has a paid stream. So, all the international events this week will be streamed on paid platforms and as a result no figure skating for me.

I guess the good news is that our currency is weak. A weekend pass is 199 kr, which I thought was more like 19 Euros but it will be closer to 17. A day pass 99 kr which is around 8,4 Euros.

I had to check because I remembered in seniors 3 entries by fed, and so does say the rules. Now all Finland, Norway and Sweden are having more in women. Have the rules changed?

In senior men there are only three left, so no possibility to try get the WC minimums?

They allowed additional entries after the deadline because there were still spots available, but the additional maximum entries I believe was 3 yes. Kaia Kleven was a sub. but got a spot after the deadline because of extra spots.

Hmm I don´t remember the rules but 3 entries sounds maybe just to few? It´s a difference between number of entries to get minimums and number of entries to get ranking points.

Not family member but I don't know if some other relative. Emmi has twin brothers who play hockey in Switzerland, and they are older than Emmi, and one little sister who is told to be a synchro skater. I think Nelli still lives in USA based on Emmi's posts.

Thank you for the information. Regardless if he is related to Emmi - I loved watching Romulus. Such an interesting skater. He skated to Pink Floyd and had a very pretty shirt. He has a lot of potential. He kinda reminds me a bit of Matias Lindfors which is a huge compliment

Olivia is having a busy weekend. She has posted in the morning from "penkkarit" which is the last day at school of senior high shcool students. Most students find it a big day and many go to celebrate it at the evening. After this day they concentrate to matriculation exams, which's results are important when applying to university. I think Olivia will not go celebrate . At the moment I wish Olivia or Nella, if she is in shape, will get the WC spot, after result of Euros. They just need to skate on they own level but clean to go on the top in scores. Nella already scored 166, 06 with some mistakes at Bavarian. So this is important competition to both. Edit: Olivia and others too are already in Norway.

Edit2: Matias Lindfors' name is not on the list any more .

Camilla Vinther Poulsen from Denmark skated very well and sits in 2nd place in the junior women SP with a score of 52 points. She did a 3Lz-2T, 3F, 2A. She looks like a promising talent for Denmark, it´s been some time since Denmark had a women challenging the other nordic countries in Nordics. I just looked it up, and she didn´t have the minimums for JWC in time, but she got the points she was missing today with 30 in TES. Such a shame it´s just a bit too late But if she is still young enough and they don´t change the minimum again she has it for next season.

Edit: I checked her ISU bio, she is born in 22.07.2006 so I think it means she can still do juniors next season?

Also - it says she practice only 9 hours a week during high season - ice time in Denmark is really awful

Well well... the panel for senior ladies is really strict, and I already suspected that after watching junior ladies yesterday.

More skaters have egen got step sequence level 1, even Nella Pelkonen, and she got a level 1 one spin as well. She landed all her jumps and it looked pretty clean but there were calls. Her TES dropped and she scored 51.50 which you could see she was not pleased about. Minja Peltonen looked really disappointed after a pretty clean skate for her scoring 48, calls as well.

PCS also pretty stingy.

Josefin was the first lady out and delivered a really good skate, she was fist bumping after, her flip got q, but other then that all green. She did shake her head when the scores came up, she was not pleased either. She scored 58.60 so pretty good score, but I don´t think she knew at that point how stingy the scores was for all skaters and hers actually very good. Anyways, I think she was expecting pushing 60 points with that skate. And she also probably realize it´s going to be really difficult reaching the TES mins in the FS with this panel.

All the Norwegian ladies so far have been having falls, but still pretty decent score for Oda and Linnea despite that scoring 47 and 48 points in this company. Mia might have gotten a bit to confident after her 12th place at Euros or having home audience nerves, she had another disaster SP like last year at Nordics, and scored 43 points Well....not all disaster, she had a hard fall on the lutz, but was able to add a combo on a shaky landing on the flip so... and a step out on the axel so every jump was shaky, and she even manage to get level 3 on spins which she usually gets level 4. Well she had a disaster skate last year in her SP too, I believe her score was actually 43 there too and she managed to pull out a monster skate in the FS and end up in silver. Honestly I don´t expect her to do the same this year, she probably can have a good free and climb the rankings but not as far this time. We will see tomorrow.

Olivia Lisko repeats her pattern of being in bronze position in Nordics It has become a tradition of her.

Okay - everything can happen tomorrow. I realized the Finnish ladies that are below Josefin are possible fighting for a spots at Worlds so that might affect them and making them nervous. I do think Josefin will stay on the podium but I´m not sure she will defend her title this year, to be honest her free has been looking shaky this year and I suspect with this panel she is going to see her TES drop with calls like at Euros, and her lead is probably not enough to take the title all though she lands all her jumps if someone else does better with a TES score around the 60s. It really depends on what the other ladies do. Linnea Ceder is only one point behind her and with her good jumps and good components she will probably win if she can do a pretty clean skate. However - if her timing is a bit off, she tend to pop jumps - so I feel like it can either go very well or she might give away a lot of points on pops and drop in the standings. She might get nervous about having a good chance to stay on the podium. I feel like Olivia might be doing better with the pressure of staying on the podium, so I expect her to stay there - question is if she can break her "curse" as bronze medalist or if she can climb. I would not count at Selma either, she is perhaps underdog and might not have the same pressure as the others. I would not count out Nella either but i´m unsure how her stamina after the injuries and her jumps got called in the SP so that might give her issues in the free.

I don´t expect the Norwegian girls now to be in the fight for podium after the SP, I think they are too far off. If Mia had skated better and had a score around 50 I would thought that was a possible, but I think she is too far behind. However - she could climb up to 5th or 6th place if she has a good free. Linnea could also possible be top 5.

Yes, very good skate. I really liked her 3T-3T combo. She took her time to get the rotations done, and it was really good distance on the combo. It reminds me of Olivias triple triple, it´s very good, good distance and clear rotations!

Selma is one of the other girls that got a step seq 1.... so she lost some points there and could even have gotten higher.

Levels on steps, only 3 skaters got above level 2:

Lv2: Everybody else except:

StsqB: Patricia S.

So very hard call on levels, and there is a lot of low levels on spins as well

Mia is repeating Nordics from last year, messing up the SP, but she skated another clean FS and her TES is 60. So how much is she going to climb this year?

Technical panel even stricter today, they already gave 3 skaters step sequence 1 in the free and we are not even halfway..

Congratz to Olivia Lisko as the new Nordic Champion

I had a feeling she could take it this year. Linnea Ceder did a pretty decent skate also and only doubled one jump, so she was able to take the silver!

Josefin was able to secure the bronze, but wasn´t able to defend her title. Congratz with another medal for Josefin!

Unfortunately I feared Josefin was going to be slaughtered by this strict panel after watching how they were going on others, and I was right. Her TES dropped 10 points after review, she got 5 calls (one was a fall on the salchow) and 2 qs, with the TES score of 43 she was nowhere near to get the 56 in TES she needs for Worlds. It´s so hard to watch, because after the last couple of skates she is so happy with the skate she did but looks so defeated and sad when she gets the score, and I totally understand it. 13 points away of reaching the mins when she lands all her jumps and delivers a great performance must feel so difficult, particular because she had the mins before they changed them this season and she knows she actually has a pretty decent chance to make the free at Worlds and secure the Olympic spot for Sweden. The qualifying event however is probably not going to be easy if they go hard on calls.

Mia did another giant kill count like last year: climbed from 12th place to 5th place, so just enough to secure some ranking points. As I suspected the gap was too much this year to get on the podium after the SP, but she was fairly close only 6 points behind Josefin in 3rd, and 2 points behind the 4h place. She was 2nd in the free, and had the highest TES of all. She probably could have been on the podium if she didn´t mess up her SP this year, but I think she is pleased with 5th place on home ice and delivering a clean skate after the disaster skate yesterday. Hopefully one day she can skate two clean programs at Nordics. The bad skate she had in SP might help her focus more on doing the job at Worlds, it´s possible she just became to confident after her success at Euros and lost focus.

I guess the Worlds spot is between Olivia and Janna now for Finland, but it looks like Olivia might have the best scores now?
