2025 Russian Junior Nationals

Fortunately those are different skaters, easier to tune for it.
She has a minor injury which she had recovered from. She wasn't missing a jump in the warm up she looked great, skated a good short program. I think she just had a bad day.

Bazyluk jumping with an injured leg? She herself said she doesn't want to jump 3A but coaches suggested it. Bazyluk has said often times when she doesnt have to jump she wants to anyways, "I'm not giving up my place to anyone" she said after jumping 5 ultra-c in a random tournament, so if she said she doesn't want to jump something at finals it must have been serious. Sounds a little irresponsible from the camp to put her through this... Shes only 13, a gold here wouldn't mean anything in the long run one way or the other. They should really be playing the long game with her. Shes been injured for a while they have her training daily to keep maximum content, I dont know...

Yea, the coaches should've listened to her...I'm sure she knows her body and limitations better than they do. I hope she pulls out of the final, cause at this point she's been injured most of the season and needs to seriously rest

Fantastic skating by the junior girls.

I wonder though, if ultra-C elements will be more of a junior event in the future. It seems really hard to keep the quads when you become senior. IIRC, only Petrosian, Sadkova and Gorbacheva managed to land quads at nationals. And they are all very tiny women.

Agata in the mixed zone

I think I was more worried today, because I couldn't make a single mistake. I am happy, I am glad to be in the top six. Last year I was seventh, that was the most upsetting. I am glad that today I did my best.

The last jump was saved on the willpower. I have been struggling with the Axel for a very long time, I have changed my technique many times, I am used to saving it. I always bet on skating clean, there is no point in risking. With a clean skate the second mark is good, and the first one is not bad.

My goal was a clean skate. I knew that the strongest Russian skaters would be here. I didn't set myself up for a top six, but I wanted it very much. When I saw how the second warm-up did, I realised that I had to skate clean to get into the top six.

- Are you thinking about ultra-c elements?

There are a lot of options, because a lot of things have been learned by now. Alexey Nikolaevich has already said that we will fix the jumps a little so that we can have a more difficult jump in the future. Some things are getting better, some are getting worse. I can't tell you which ultra-c jump will be the first one.

- Have you cut your fingers?

Yes, during the skate. Still bleeding. I often cut this hand because it is not gloved. After that, it bothers me for another week.

Sadkova is at least 5'2, so I wouldn't consider her very tiny. But her quad is also very inconsistent, so ig it checks out

All athletes carry some small issue. If it was such an issue, why did she have no problems in the warm up?

Alisik will go to seniors finally next season, I hope she would keep her quads. Of course she is tiny too.

No idea, if a girl like that doesn't want to jump in the most important event of the season, theres a reason, I don't think its mentality, but I am not part of their camp so who knows.
