Today's passionate Flame to the moth with landed 3F (incl. the end of Habanera)! :love2:

Flame to the Moth on the final day 💫
This is the love and passion❤️ for skating of a man who turns 39 in a week!
The enthusiasm of the audience was so intense that it drowned out the music 😭😭

Someone uploaded this performance (March 9 / evening show) on youtube:

And here's Flame to the Moth from the morning show on the 9th (also with landed 3F!) with Kana, Yuna, Moa and Haruya doing the Habanera intro (which wasn't posted here yet):

There are many enthusiastic and touching fan reports about Kassouya on social media - this is one of them:

https://x.com/ILODY/status/1899997541858750915

My husband watched an ice show for the first time without any prior information other than that it was Daisuke's show. He is not usually interested in figure skating, so I wondered what he would think about it. During the show, he took out his handkerchief and I wondered what was wrong, but he was quietly crying. It was interesting to hear his impressions after the show. First of all, he had goosebumps at the beginning of the performance and was overwhelmed. He had no idea who was who (he didn't even know who was in the show in the first place), but it was amazing. He doesn't remember where he started crying, but he said he was slowly overflowing with tears. He doesn't know why.
Even if people who don't know anything about it watch it, they will be moved even if they don't understand anything. Isn't this the true essence of Kassouya? Because he knows how difficult it is to develop human resources, he was very moved by the overlap with his own work. He also seemed to be impressed by the thickness and depth of the work they put into the details, such as the lighting and composition. So, even my husband, who is not familiar with figures, was moved from various angles by Kassouya.
Daisuke Takahashi, the chairman producer, is amazing‼️ and all the skaters and staff are amazing‼️ The Kassouya company* is the best✨. ‼️

* Dai himself also kept referring to Kassouya as a company in his aftershow speeches. :)

After a preview-screening in Kurashiki on March 3rd in attendance of director Emiko Hiramatsu and part of the cast (which Dai couldn't join due to the Kassouya rehearsals taking place at the same time*), "The City of Warehouses" (direct translation) / "The Tales of Kurashiki" (which is the official English version of the movie title) celebrated its official premiere at the Osaka Asian Film Festival today (running from March 14th to March 23rd)! (The premiere at the festival was accompanied by a talk event with the director and actors Kazuki Horike and Tomoya Maeno.)

* He sent in a video message instead: https://youtu.be/b0LODspGRCk?t=56

At the time of the preview-screening in Kurashiki the official movie trailer was also released (Dai is featured in the trailer at 0:13, 0:25 (voice-over) and 0:29):

Figure skater Daisuke Takahashi makes his first appearance in a film. Special report on ‘Kura no Aru Machi’, a film about the ‘surprise fireworks’ of the Corona Disaster [Pre-release at MOVIX Kurashiki from 25 July 2025, nationwide release from 22 August].

Reviews from fans who watched the movie today :thank::

https://x.com/uvic316/status/1900569126781005875

✨Actor Daisuke Takahashi is born✨
Daichan led me to watch #The City of Warehouses.
The director's eye for giving him a complex, deep and difficult role, rather than just a nice guy, is indeed impressive!
In response, Dai-chan acted in all sorts of ways, and even among the talented actors, he looked just like an actor❣️

https://x.com/purplearashi/status/1900515639615459483

#The City of Warehouses is a very deep, heavy and sometimes painful film, but at the end it is very moving. It is a film made by people who truly love the city of Kurashiki. #Daisuke Takahashi is not just a museum curator, he is a key person and has a lot to do with the main characters. He's amazing. Too multi-talented ✨

https://x.com/d3_kac/status/1900505260218868171

#The City of Warehouses I saw the film. The film was full of the director's love for Kurashiki. Ordinary life of ordinary people. It is only when something happens that they start to change. I felt again that fireworks were hope for the people who lived through the Corona disaster. The story is not flashy, but it is a story that seeps into your heart. The cast is good and addictive.
And Daisuke is in the movie more than expected. It's an important role. You will see Daisuke as you have never seen him before. Whenever he appeared unexpectedly, I would scream and writhe inside, but before I knew it, I found myself watching him honestly without any sense of discomfort. I look forward to seeing his future as an actor.

https://x.com/poohshoo2/status/1900669535105282326

There was the ‘actor’ curator Dai-chan!
He played a very important role in the film.
He's the same guy who was dancing around the other day in Kassouya, isn't he?
It was a deeply moving film in so many ways 😭.
I want to watch it again and again!

A brief fan report from the event with Emiko Hiramatsu, Kazuki Horike and Tomoya Maeno, who talked about Dai-chan a bit 😄:

https://x.com/itoaya7/status/1900680187223871683

Director Hiramatsu, Horike-san, and Maeno-san were all smiling throughout the event and were happy to share some episodes from the shoot with us about Dai-chan, who wasn't there 🥹 They're all gentle and nice people, and Dai-chan, who said he was more nervous about it than the Olympics at first, quickly got the hang of it. 🥰
Also, when Dai-chan ad-libbed something that wasn't in the script, Horike-san hurriedly responded, and when the director noticed a gesture after filming, everyone said with a smile that it brought out the wild side of Takahashi Daisuke, which is unusual for a museum curator. 😆💕
Please look forward to the movie to find out which scene it was. 😆
Thank you everyone for your valuable stories and the fun time. 🙇‍♀️

ETA: Here is a great, extensive movie review - including a comprehensive synopsis - in English:

Dai is mentioned in the last paragraph:

Most enjoyable is the way the whole community comes together for a fireworks display as the city and its residents work together to support each other. Hiramatsu truly creates a film that champions her city, as does the cast, many of whom, like Daisuke Takahashi (making his debut and proving to be a good actor), Tomoya Maeno (Emi-Abi) and MEGUMI (December), are natives and even Hiramatsu shows up in one scene herself. The final feel of the film is a wholesome one, as sustained in a world where the hopeful and yearning viewpoints of youngsters is taken seriously and brings along adults who help make a happy ending. It makes for enjoyable viewing for a wide audience.

I have read that there will be English subtitles available and I hope that "The Tales of Kurashiki" will be released on DVD/Blu-ray.

Dear Dai-chan, I wish you an awesome birthday! 🥳🎂
The past year has been full of successes and new experiences. I hope that you will continue to have the opportunity to do what you enjoy, gain diverse experiences and constantly expand your repertoire. Above all, always follow your heart and stay healthy! 💕

I love this cute fan-art showing Dai-chan surrounded by all the characters he has portrayed in the Hyoen-series (or will portray in the case of Ura) +Yuki, Tokio and Kibitsuhiko 😊:

Like last year on his birthday, Dai took part in Kanako Murakami's Classcial Figure Skating Concert as a guest again today:

#Kanako Murakami's Figure Skating Music Concert successfully ended!
We were helped by the warm and passionate atmosphere of the figure skating fans at the venue.
I had a really good time too. ☺️
To everyone who came,
Thank you very much for coming!
I was so happy to be able to share the stage with you all. Daisuke's 🎂.
I'm sure you'll be able to see some behind-the-scenes shots of Daisuke's 🎂 and more.
I'm sure they will be released in the near future.

Looking at my TL today, I feel like Kazuki and Dai-chan fandoms are kinda merging at this point 😁

Hehe, I suppose that's not surpsiring (I also count myself among those who are a fan of both)! 🫶:)

According to this fan in attendance, Kana-chan and Yuma-san were in the audience at Kanako's Figure Skating Concert! 🥰

I saw Yuma-san and Kana-chan. Kana-chan was wearing a really cute black felt hat, and I thought, "Wow, what a cute hat." At first, I was only looking at the hat and didn't notice Kana-chan. After I sat down, I turned around and saw the felt hat from before, and when I looked closely, it was Kana-chan. ☺️

A few fan anecdotes from the event :thank::

https://x.com/friedshrimp76/status/1901183046390608375

Thank you, Kanako-chan, for bringing up the topic of Kassouya and Hyoen.☺️ Last year and this year too, Daisuke-san looked really happy when we sang Happy Birthday together💕 (*゚◇゚)<The best birthday in the world! Because♡ I was able to celebrate by listening to a wonderful performance while remembering the skating performance... it was really fun~♫

https://x.com/le_petit_pontFS/status/1901206723307934049

Conductor Tanaka-san was really fun to talk to. She also praised us for the speed of our applause, which seems to be different from classical music fans lol😆 She teased Dai-chan by saying that he was "trending" lol and said that she was very happy that Daisuke-san and the others were watching (listening) from the gap on the side of the stage during the performances. Surprisingly, there may be some people who just do the MC. lol🙊

#FigureSkatingConcert
This year, we celebrated #TakahashiDaisuke's birthday under Kanako's direction and all sang Happy Birthday together🎂
Tanaka reported that "it was trending"😄
Daisuke said, "It was the best birthday in the world. I feel like I can do my best this year too💪"
That goes for us too💞💞

https://x.com/purplearashi/status/1901200403834007888

Returning to the topic of Kassouya, Kanako said, "Daisuke's use of lingering notes is amazing💜," to which Tanaka replied, "I'm so moved I feel dizzy. The most important thing for a conductor is lingering notes❗️." I'm sure there's something in common between them.💕💕

https://x.com/forester201811/status/1901184451947966724

After listening to the performance of Phantom of the Opera, which was also performed last year, Daisuke said, "It reminded me of skating with my partner, Kana Muramoto."

https://x.com/kokoruby21/status/1901173231807070533

#FigureSkatingConcert
Special guest Dai-chan looked amazing in his three-piece suit 💞
His suit and red hair looked great (his red hair and shoes were the same color❣️) and he looked cool
His cheeks were even sharper than on TV.
First of all, I'd like to report.
It was fun.
The conductor #Tanaka Yuko
She's small but powerful and elegant, and her talk was wonderful
#Kishima Mayu's violin performance of Roxanne's tango gave me goosebumps
#Fueda Hiroaki's tenor in the opera Pagliacci.
I hope he can collaborate with Dai-chan. 🙏
Kanako-chan led the crowd.
We all sang Happy Birthday to Dai-chan.🎂
He said it looks like it's going to be the best year ever for Dai-chan❣️😍
It looks like it's going to be the best year for us fans too🙌🙌🙌

#Mao Asada & #Daisuke Takahashi after 9 years together [at Stars on Ice]: ⛸️
Producing skating shows and rink building and other challenges have continued to be taken on by Mao Asada.
This time the challenge is to perform with Daisuke Takahashi!
We talked to them 🐥.

Today's TV programme took a look at Mao-chan's and Dai-chan's Stars on Ice duet (now we know that it is indeed a duet (incorporating ice dance holds) and not a pas de trois ETA: the promotion keeps changing - according to a slightly different special, which was broadcast on MBS on March 30, this might be a collaboration of four people, incorporating Kana and Kazuki as well). There was also a brief look back at Mao's and Dai's careers and an interview to which Kana (who choreographed the duet) also contributed a few words:

As fans noted, the song they are skating to is "Silhouette" by Aquilo:

Apparently Mao said that this might be the last/only chance for them to work in this constallation.

In other words, it looks like Yamato Tamura's wish for a Mao x Dai collaboration under Kana's "direction", as he half-jokingly mentioned when Kana and Dai attended one of the performances of "Everlasting33" together, is now coming true 😎:

Kana-chan and Dai-chan went to see Mao's show "Everlasting33" at Tachikawa Stage Garden yesterday  (I had a feeling that they would go after Hyoen's conclusion; they went to "Beyond" together as well):

Translation of Yamato's comment:

Thank you for your hard work in Hyoen.
I would like to see a chairperson's group.
If that comes true, Kana will train them. lol

Of course it's not the first time for Mao and Dai to skate together, but a duet choreographed by Kana is the ultimate dream collaboration for me, tbh! 🤗

In other news, today's Poka Poka theme was a music quiz and the guests were violinist Mayu Kishima (who was part of "Kanako's figure skating concert") and pop-pianist "Harami-chan" - the Poka Poka regulars were asked to guess pieces of music played by the two (which Dai was pretty good at!):

Mao Asada & Daisuke Takahashi, the dream team, talk about each other: the past and present of these extraordinary skaters
[April 2, 2025, 7:59am]
The past and present of these legendary skaters intersect. The figure skating ice show "Stars on Ice Japan Tour 2025" will be held on the 5th and 6th at the Towa Yakuhin RACTAB Dome in Osaka. Mao Asada (34) will be appearing in the world's top show for the first time in nine years. She will be performing a special collaborative number with Daisuke Takahashi (39) and others. From their days as athletes to professionals. We sneaked into the practice where they were creating a piece with the theme of time, and talked to them about each other.
★ Choreography by Muramoto of "Kanadai"
In March, the main rink at "MAO RINK" in Tachikawa, Tokyo was heating up. The rink, which opened last November, was in the middle of a public session. In the center of the ice, Asada, who produced the entire facility, and Takahashi, with pink-dyed hair, exchanged opinions with gestures and continued skating. Next to them was Muramoto Kana, who was Takahashi's partner in ice dancing as "Kanadai" during their competitive days. The sudden appearance of the gorgeous trio left visitors skating around them in amazement.
They had started working on the piece before the scheduled private time afterwards. That alone shows the enthusiasm they put into it. ‘Wasn't that beautiful?’ The work continued to be checked many times, including the lift in which Takahashi held Asada. After a total of 90 minutes of practice, they all agreed that it was fresh.
Asada: Dai-chan leads me with his ice dance experience, so I feel like I have to match him.
Takahashi: It's interesting to hear how Mao takes notes!
These two led the figure skating boom from the early 2000s. Asada retired in 2017, and Takahashi returned as a single skater after retirement, then retired in 2023 after switching to ice dancing. Both have brought a breath of fresh air to the world of shows as professionals.
★"Maybe this is the last time"
Asada has led tours around the country with shows like "Thanks Tour" and "Beyond," as well as the theater show "Everlasting33," where she even tried her hand at tap dancing, while Takahashi has produced "Kassouya," where he scouts young skaters and leaves an impression of the diversity of expression in their group dances. They have seen each other do this.
Takahashi: I was a bit shocked to see how much her performance and presentation skills had improved. I felt like I had to work harder too. I've been thinking that I want to create something that is uniquely my own so that I don't lose out to her.
Asada: Each of us is active in a completely different worldview, so it always gives me the strength to work hard, too. I learned a lot from skating together today, being so close. I think he is an amazing skater.
Living in the same era, they have been and still are each other's source of growth and challenge. Muramoto, who was entrusted with song selection and choreography, also responded to this relationship.
Muramoto: They've competed in many different fields, and now they'll be reuniting after having their own shows and having had many different experiences. I think it's really special. I wanted to highlight the two of them.
The theme is past and present. Muramoto will play Asada's past, and Tomono Kazuki will play Takahashi's past, and the four will dance together. It's an ambitious piece that chronicles the two of their journeys to the song "Silhouette" sung by AQUILO.
Asada: This may be the last (collaboration). I want to savor every moment.
Takahashi: Maybe by looking back on it, we'll discover something new and think about it again. I hope it will be a piece that gives people a sense of hope as the four of us share it.
The two actors, playing their past roles and the two actors playing their present roles, come together on the ice, depicting them moving forward into the future. This will be a major milestone production for both [all] of them.

The last page of the final Tokyo edition today, the 2nd, features the figure skating ice show ‘Stars on Ice Japan Tour 2025’ ⛸️ Mao Asada will perform for the first time in 9 years👏 and Daisuke Takahashi and others will perform special collaboration numbers🎁📰 for details, please visit Nikkan.

[Figure Skating] Mao Asada and Daisuke Takahashi to appear together in special collaboration "It's going well, right?" "It's going well!"
[April 4, 2025 16:03]
The figure skating ice show "Stars on Ice" will be held on April 5th and 6th at the Towa Pharmaceutical RACTAB Dome in Osaka. A press conference was held in Osaka on the 4th, and Mao Asada (34), Daisuke Takahashi (39), and Kana Muramoto (32), who will be performing a special collaboration number, also appeared on stage.
Currently, Asada-san, who continues to break new ground as a professional skater, and "Kanadai" will be performing together. It has been decided that Asada-san will perform for the first time in nine years, and that Muramoto-san will be in charge of choreography to create a special piece. Based on the theme of the past and the present, the four of them, including Tomono Kazuki (26), will create a worldview.
At the press conference, Takahashi said to Asada, "We've had three days of rehearsals, so we practiced it all day today and I think it's turned out to be a really good number. We'll do our best for one more day. It's going well, isn't it?" Asada responded with a big smile, "It's going well!"

Mao Asada told about her bond with her ally Daisuke Takahashi, stimulated by the sensitivity that no one else has, and their relationship is like "classmates"
2025.04.05
Vancouver Olympic silver medalist Mao Asada, who will be appearing for the first time in nine years in the world's top ice show "Stars on Ice Japan Tour 2025," which starts on the 5th, gave an exclusive interview to "THE ANSWER" on the 4th. She is scheduled to debut a special collaboration number with Daisuke Takahashi and others. She also talked about her relationship with her ally/close friend Takahashi and the dreams she wants to achieve at "MAO RINK TACHIKAWA TACHIHI," an ice rink she produced in Tachikawa, Tokyo. (Interviewer: Miyauchi Hiroya, Editorial Department of THE ANSWER)
◇ ◇ ◇

--This is your first appearance in nine years. Your collaborative number with Takahashi and others have attracted a lot of attention, but what are the highlights of your performance?
"I'm going to do Bolero as my solo, but when I skated to it previously in 'Everlasting33' the rink was about one-third the normal size, so this time I'm remaking it for Stars on Ice.
The collaborative number came about when I was having dinner with Kanadai (Takahashi and Muramoto Kana) last year and we were saying, 'It'd be great if we could all collaborate someday.' Since we're going to be performing together on Stars on Ice this time, we thought it was now or never."
--It seems like it will be a rare opportunity to perform together with Takahashi, who you have known for a long time since your active days. How do you feel now that the performance is just around the corner?
"It's been so long since we last skated together, I wonder how many years it's been... It's been so long that I can't even remember, but I'm sure this time at Stars on Ice will be very special in my skating career, and there will only be six performances, so I want to skate with all my heart."
--You have often competed in the same competitions and have improved together, but what is your impression of Takahashi-san now?
"I have the impression that Dai-chan is always challenging himself. Even after he retired from singles, he turned to the world of ice dance as an athlete and took on new challenges, and after retiring from active competition he started creating ice shows as a producer. I myself have been creating my own shows since retiring as an athlete, so although we are from the same era but competed in different disciplines, I think it's wonderful that a friend who competed with me in figure skating is creating a show that is different from mine.
Dai-chan's sensibility is something that nobody else has. The way he expresses himself in skating, the timing... I really learned a lot from skating with him this time. Dai-chan is active in his own world, so as someone of the same generation, I'm very happy."
Relationship with Daisuke Takahashi is like "classmates"
--If you had to describe your relationship with Takahashi, would you say he's like an older brother or an ally/friend?
"I don't know. Even though we are of the same generation and I am younger, we often went to competitions together, so I guess we are like kids in the same class, like classmates. We often met through skating. I have known all my skating friends since I was in the second or third grade of elementary school, so I really feel like we are elementary school classmates. There were so many skaters when I was a child, but some of them quit for various reasons, so I am very happy to skate again with skaters who have stayed and worked hard in the same world."

I can't wait to see the collaboration - there are so many audience reports praising it and the photos are gorgeous! 🤩

Asada also performed a special collaboration number, "Silhouette," with fellow skaters Daisuke Takahashi (39) and Kana Muramoto (32) and current skater Kazuki Tomono (26). This was Asada and Takahashi's first collaboration in nine years at Stars on Ice, and the program depicted the "past and present," with Muramoto playing Asada's and Tomono playing Takahashi's past. The costumes were designed to evoke the image of sunrise and sunset, expressing the passage of time. Fans were enthralled by the romantic collaboration that traced the trajectory of these two skaters who have long led the Japanese figure skating world.
I read that the costumes were designed by Mathieu Caron? Not sure, if it's true, though...

I love Dai’s costume that color looks fabulous on him ❤️

Agreed, I think most shades of purple and blue look great on him (for instance his Sochi Beatles costume comes to mind) and in this case it also complemented his current hair color. :)

What's interesting about the costumes for Silhouette is that Kana's dress already existed (she wore it at Ice Explosion 2023 for her duet with Massimo) and she has a blue variation of it, which she wore for her solo number at FOI 2024. It seems that Mao's dress was either made to match Kana's or that Kana also had an aubergine-coloured variation and lent it to Mao for the collaboration (since they have a very similar height and build, it should fit Mao perfectly). Dai's and Kazuki's costumes were probably commissioned for SOI to complement Mao's and Kana's dresses. In my opinion this simple and very classy/elegant look flatters all four of them and accentuates the delicate beauty and maturity of the program. 🥰

Iskating posted stunning photos of the collaboration yesterday - swipe to the right to see all of them (the lines!!! 🤩).

Dai looks very regal in the third one 😊:
