The skaters were pre-split into two groups. The starting orders were drawn within the group and within each discipline. That’s why the skaters in the second group are more titled in general but also the order was sort of random.

Was it made known why T/M withdrew? I was really looking forward to seeing them again.

No, Tarasova has also withdrawn from all her shows.

Rumors are, that Tarasova is pregnant. But not confirmed yet. They withdrew as a pair from planned shows recently.
That makes sense. It’s a happy reason for stopping but I will miss seeing them skate, they are my favourites and I had been enjoying their performances after retirement.

Loved: Kondratyuk (clear win, for sure), Murav'yeva, Leont'yeva/Gorelkin, Gumennik, Kolyada, Khabibulina/Knyazhuk
Didn't like: Samsonov, Scherbakova, Stepanova/Bukin, Vetlugin, Lutfulin, Sotnikova, Tuktamysheva
everything else was solid gala numbers

That was fun and very entertaining, sadly I couldn't watch it live so just caught up.
Glad Mark won, his programme was my favourite.
So many unique and innovative programs. I also liked:-
Muravieva to see a different side to her,
Shcherbakova beautiful as always, wish her career could have gone on longer,
Samsonov very impressive skating in that costume,
Gleb and Matvei just beautiful skating,
loved Kaganovskaia and Nekrasov, Boikova and Kozlovski,
Murashov was great fun,
nice to see Volosozhar and Trankov and Trusova and Ignatov that has to be a first in a skating show.
Thought the show was slicker than previous years and loved the staging, graphics, great production, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Guess thats it for the Russian season, can't wait to see what happens next season.

The Fed revealed that Anna (single skater) had broken her blade during the rehearsals and couldn't skate but Mishin found a way to repair it.
