Alysa Liu performs MacArthur Park at SF Yerba Buena Ice Rink for the SF Figure Skating Annual Gala - filmed by Ice Perspectives - enjoy
Thank you for posting. AMAZING skate/performance.

In Alysa's age to have such a personality, such an individuality... I bow my head head... To know what she wants and why...it takes a lifetime for average person to find what she has been able to find still being a teenager... And this ability not to feel any pressure to please anyone's expectations...it really out of this world quality. Lot of time so many very talented musicians, artists, figure skaters and etc. stumble exactly on the stone of performance anxiety and cannot get out of it despite all the treatments or whatever; they just stack there on sense of guilt that they will be not able to meet expectations...Bravo Alysa. You go, girl and bring us that joy and purity of mind and heart you do have with your skating.

I like her SP much better than LP though ( personal preference); more subtlety. But with so different programs, SP and LP, Alysa really shows that she is very versatile skater and that part is even more amazing.

Alysa Liu - Stars on Ice 2025 in Anaheim CA
what a contrast this is to her last time in stars on ice in 2022 where she was so ready to be done. its so evident she enjoys skating now and just wants to share it. love the choreography by the way.

She is an enigma. Certain events had to happen in place and time (for her and the other skaters) for her to be the world Champion. And they did and she deserves every acolade. She is wise beyond her years which is not uncommon in our sport. And she doesnt let any pressure get to her mind, heart and body. I like her comment on social media. "What the Hell?" She knows she had the best skates of the season or any practice at the right place and the right time. And others didnt. No matter what, she is a winner. The world needs more like her.....(The passport story is interesting. )

I am trying to stay on n even keel. So far Alisa has had one great, amazing performance in her comeback. Is this enough to make her the Olympic favorite for next year?

Well, it doesn't matter. Sometimes the favorite comes out on top, sometimes it doesn't work out that way. It will be a heart-pounding season if everyone performs up to their capabilities.

She also would have won Nationals but for a silly mistake on her last spin and she skated really well at 4CC but again made a mistake on her final jump which she can usually do in her sleep and finished just off the podium in what was one of the best skated events of the season at the top of the podium where she had to be perfect. She was getting stronger and her stamina was building up with every outing and while winning or even medaling at Worlds was not expected she was peaking at the right time to skate the best she had all season. And even though there was really no pressure at WTT where it's more fun then competition she might have skated even better then at Worlds with two more perfect skates. But we'll see this season.
