The quad toe I can take (it seems like he still hasn't figured out a way to get his foot out in time), the 3Lz+REP I cannot... and Jaekeun is the one out of four of our skaters who had an okay FS, not a good day for me. I think Rach was chosen to present a seniorish look, but (sigh) it is bland and I do not enjoy it, unlike Il Postino (which is quite lovely and soft), I'd rather have his Archangel (TSFH) FS reworked because I am just not engaged with the choreo and Jaekeun is my boy gaaaaahhhh

@Ichatdelune I see what you mean about his long legs. I love his skating - sad about the struggles at the top. He has such a lovely expression and takes great care with his interpretation. So fine.

Jaekeun is even better when seen live, his neat skating and soft, collected interpretation demands a live viewing to appreciate it to the fullest, as well as his lonnnnggggg legs. He is young and I'm hoping that he'll figure the quad toe out sooner or later

If Jaekeun's Rach 2 started with the beginning of the piece which I liked... the cuts are atrocious ... sorry. I preferred Gogo's cuts.. if we have to put a 30 minute concerto in 4 minutes, well... yeah. you got it

When I first heard his cut during morning practice at Selections a few weeks ago my first thought was "Welp mamie is going to hate the cut" and I was not wrong eh, but the cuts are indeed bad so you are in the right

Tomoki's choreo came alive at the bombastic vocals, but not before then. And did his spins look labored, or is that me?

I know it's the system, but less time jumping in the front half and more time doing steps and choreo could make this program more interesting.

You know for as much as Thom Yorke apparently doesn't like Creep (and as much as his voice gets in the way of me enjoying some later Radiohead) every time I hear it covered I find myself newly appreciating how much the song needs his exact, unassuming vocal delivery. It totally undercuts the song to have a singer vamping and wailing dramatically, and turns it from something sincere into melodramatic self-pity.

I can see that happening. I love Tomoki but he just makes too many mistakes.

I actually liked this FS CO on Tomoki. Starts soft and builds and he always delivers so well. Needs to get those quads under control as always.
