the best will go at that will be what everyone deserves and what the sport is and should beI'm screaming internally. I'm ready to join any Roman prayer circle...
That would be incredibly unfair to Aleksa when Skate Canada assigned him the spot. I know he isn't a fan favourite, but if he's assigned the spot he should keep it.I wonder if this means that somebody (Aleksa Rakic?) will have his Skate Canada spot taken away. Not that I care about mens skating, but it is going to be a fun season.
He would need to win a Challenger to get on the alternates list now since he doesn't have an SB.I was really surprised by this news, especially by the timing. I would have expected him to announce before the Grand Prix assignments, in order to have a full season. Will he even be on the GP replacement list?
My first thoughts were similar—perhaps Wesley’s injury is more serious than reported, and Skate Canada responded by persuading Keegan to unretire.Does he just want to do a legal backflip in competition?
Honestly, I would not be surprised if Skate Canada had encouraged him to unretire.
I would have been happy had he stayed retired. Although I am uncertain if this is true or not, there was a rumor on Twitter about him committing sexual assault, and this colors my current opinion of him in a negative way.
Keegan is uniquely suited for hyping up Skate Canada during the Olympic season. He's very outgoing and knows how to work a crowd! In addition to the shenanigans you mentioned, I can't help but think of his giant Canadian flag!My first thoughts were similar—perhaps Wesley’s injury is more serious than reported, and Skate Canada responded by persuading Keegan to unretire.
Plus they love to promote him, of course. The baby pictures in the KnC. The cowboy hat. The “bromance” with Nam. Now to be combined with a comeback story! Some fans do enjoy these things.
I agree it would be unfair to take the host spot away from Aleksa now that it has been assigned - particularly when Keegan would have been entitled to non-host spots under the returning skater rule had he announced his intentions slightly earlier. That would be incredibly unfair to Aleksa when Skate Canada assigned him the spot. I know he isn't a fan favourite, but if he's assigned the spot he should keep it.
Can't he use the returning skater clause that Gracie did?He would need to win a Challenger to get on the alternates list now since he doesn't have an SB.
