2025 JGP Ankara Women's Free Skate

I admire Sophie's bold technical attempts but as she is not successful, it just makes the program look very messy. I am not sure how I would score it if i were a judge.

Thank you Ted for agreeing with what I said ;) the program didn't work because of all the mistakes

Oh, sorry. I had read it somewhere with that meaning.

Edit: Could you please tell me what 櫻花 means?
That's cherry blossom/flower, 櫻 means cherry tree and 花 means flower/blossom. In Japanese kanji 桜 is more widely used instead of 櫻 but it means the same thing. Japanese reading can be insane because you never know which yomi(way of reading) you're gonna get but 櫻花 I'd read as sakura-hana, literally cherry flower

Edit: Ohhhh I figured out why you got oka with 櫻花, so 櫻 can be read as sakura (kunyomi, lit. meaning-reading) or it can be read as ō (long o, onyomi, lit. sound-reading) while 花 can be read as hana with kunyomi or ka with onyomi, I would not jump to 櫻花 when faced with 'oka' but it is a possible reading

Sophie needs to do programs that she can skate clean. Right now she's pushing herself too much also you know if she misses her opening triple axel combo she's going to skate badly. She needs to learn to bear down if she misses that combo and put it behind her and land shit. She's too talented not to have medaled here.

While it wasn't the skate Sophie wanted to deliver, she had the courage to try three very difficult jumps, and stays on the podium at the end. Three turn out of the 3A but she still gets the 2T on; 4S not as successful, but she stays on her feet, and then falls on the second 3A. It's an ambitious set of jumping passes, but she'll get there with more competition experience. Her spins are good, even when clearly tired at the end. Her performance was stronger at the start, but she kept going despite the disappointment.

Well, I thought they scored Sophie too high for what she actually skated. Most of her jumps looked under rotated. I thought the TES score would go down substantially. Also, Haruna’s PCS should have made the difference 😡
