I disagree. The twist was good in the air, but there was a slight bit of touching on the catch, which might not have been caught by judges from a different angle, but they did from this angle. And the jump GOE is very much in line with what they showed and what other pairs with similar jumps (i.e. completely not in synch) have received (see the Polish pair for some examples). Synchronisation isn't just optional in pairs skating, it's required.OMG. I know that rep for Audrey and Balazs has not been good, but right from the start, they were low-balled on GOE for the 3-twist. That was a very good 3-twist. I know the jumps were out of sync, but boy, judges do not usually take off like that when the jumps are landed. I didn't see what happened on the death spiral, but I see it's being explained. They are a btter team that what they showed. But for goodness sake, it was obvious the judges did NOT have a high impression of them at all. They needed to at least be 61 to 62 to give themselves a fighting chance.
They did really well at French Masters recently.I also would not count out the Kovalevs, if they are healthy. In any case, they are already eligible to compete in the 2026 Olympics team competition, so qualifying here for the individual pairs event would just be icing on the cake for the Kovalevs.

Eh, at this high profile event, judges are feeling their beans. Plenty of comps judges go easy on heavy contact on twist dismounts! For e.g., notorious high GOE for Miura/Kihara all the time on their twists, which look good in the air, but always clear contact on the dismount. Miura is always making obvious contact with Kihara's shoulder and chest!I disagree.
