It's all now down to somebody else making mistakes to let one of them in.

Unfortunately, Mia made a few mistakes.

But, she's taking it in good spirits.

She goes into 2nd in both the FS and overall.

The overall score is actually not that bad for Mia though, she can be proud

You can't have it all. She skates on straight legs a program to a... doesn't matter, she is slow and not exactly expressive, not a very interesting skater, so she got hammered in the short expectedly. Her chance was in the free. She had to get all the elements, so she did.

I haven't seen Safonova since the last Olympics, but she was more expressive then. She is one of the skaters I really remember from that year.

Why is the skaters' entrance half a mile from the rink? I would need a moving walkway, a scooter, or a rickshaw to agree to traverse that distance before warming up and performing a free program!

I haven't seen Safonova since the last Olympics, but she was more expressive then. She is one of the skaters I really remember from that year.

I think at the time, even in Olympics, the pressure was less than this event. She was dinged for jumps in SP, so she put all her focus on fully rotating them.
