2025 Grand Prix: General Info and Substitutions

Thanks Saine!

Finally! But there are errors...again.

Men:
Aleksandr Selevko's score should be 235.70 not 235.23
Jaekeun Lee should move up to 11th as his score is now 226.53
Lukas Vaclavik is doing JGP and Yaroslav Paniot has retired, so they should both be removed

Women:
Arina Kalugina is doing JGP so she should be removed.
Saki Miyake should be 2nd with 196.79
Mako Yamashita should be 8th with 183.81
and shouldn't Sonja Hilmer also be there with 165.83??

At first I thought they haven't updated after Kinoshita Group Cup, but Hiwatashi's score is updated from that event, no one else.
Yeah, they kept to the same rules including errors with who is included 😅

With Miyake, Yamashita and Hilmer, they aren't included since they weren't on the SB 75 for 24-25. They would have needed to win to get on the list for this season.

With Kinoshita, they did update Lauriault/Le Gac so they are now at the top of the list. Given that it was also a skate off for the Skate Canada TBD, I hope that they wait a bit before naming them in case a spot opens up.

OK, so essentially, the only errors in men are Selevko's and Lee's scores should be updated.

Or, could it be that they only update skaters that are already in the Top 75?? :scratch2: That would explain why Miyake, Yamashita and Hilmer is missing.
If I recall correctly, it was something like that...

I do find this interesting, the US assignments grid still has the men's spot and the pairs' spot as TBD. The dance spot is in the grid, and USFS socials are promoting it.

The picks could stay as is, but it's still weird.

I wish SC would have waited to formally announce. L/L were first on the replacement list.

Assigning Shin/Nagy took them off the official alternates list since they have two assignments now. I would hope that they'd take that into consideration if they are placeholders.

That's a good point, even if they were unlikely to get a second one that way.

All home spots are filled:

🇺🇸 Liam Kapeikis, Audrey Shin / Balazs Nagy, and Oona Brown / Gage Brown ➡️ Skate America

🇯🇵 Haru Kakiuchi, Yuna Aoki, and Yuna Nagaoka / Sumitada Moriguchi ➡️ NHK Trophy

🇨🇦 Uliana Shiryaeva and Marie-Jade Lauriault / Romain le Gac ➡️ Skate Canada

And Valtter VIRTANEN, Olivia LISKO, Selma VALITALO to 6th Event Finland.

Looks like Lucas Broussard has withdrawn from Skate Canada.

It was announced Sep 10th (according to Wikipedia). I suppose the spot will go to Hiwatashi.

I'm surprised by Kapeikis getting the host spot. I was sure that it would go to Sanchez...

Coming back to this, Kapeikis mentioned at Nebelhorn that he's hoping to get the TBD spots at Skate America. So his spot isn't confirmed yet.

Surprisingly, the SB lists have been updated with the "Skate to Milano" scores. So it turns out that it counts for SB after all.

It will be interesting to see if the Alternate List will be updated with those scores as well.

In any case, after this weeks skating fights, we should have Jia Shin and Stephen Gogolev on top of the Alternate List.
