2025 Grand Prix of France Women's Short Program

I enjoyed Jia's skate, even if she didn't get everything that she intended to do done. Pops the lutz, oh dear. Beautiful Ina Bauer across the diagonal into the 2A, down to the turn of her head. 3F-2T combination. Loved the way she reversed direction after her first set of twizzles in her step sequence; that whole step sequence was a thing of serene beauty.

Oh no, it's Jeffrey Buttle, sorry Jeffrey! 😅
I only forgive Jeffrey on this because he is Jeffrey... But Chopin didn't care for the violin... If people want to use Chopin with strings, they can just use the Cello sonata or have a cello cover... At least, it would make sense.

But then, there is much worse on Earth... I'llllll let youuuuuuu gooooooooooo

Hopefully Jia and her choreographer, presume it's David Wilson, will have a peek at the Chopin's comp for ideas. Sad she missed a jump.
Rooting for Kevin Chen so a Canadian wins a prize at Chopin Competition for the third time in a row. :). Yes... I am as biased with Canadian pianists as I am with Canadian skaters :)

I feel for Elyce, she had that breakout event on the Challenger Series last year and she's been struggling to live up to it ever since. She has a lot of great qualities and I think this program shows her off well, but the jumps just haven't been her friend recently. She's only 18 though, so she has loads of time to get her feet back under her. Like Jia, she just seemed a little nervy throughout, but she did well to come back with the flip.
