I have some of these on hand, if anyone would like......

thanks but yeah... I like my chocolate darker, just like my men

my money was on her doubling the flip.

I guess change is good. I do hope her team adds a second 3A in LP if she is to have a strong chance.

She only needed a triple lutz* instead of a double one to win. But yeah I can see a 2nd 3A coming, it's even a better jump now for Amber than her 3F

*but it had to be a decent one so not a triple lutz with -2.00 GOE

She cannot do it in combination.
The should absolutely be able to add a 2T to the end.

I think it’s fantastic for her! You don’t want to win the Olympics in November.
It's worse than her last stage. She is scoring 220 in a perfect world—which is not this one. Amber is not known for being a late peaker at all. In no season did she ever improve as things progressed. She is consistently at the same level.

Deserved win for Mone in the end, the lutz pop by Amber was crucial.

Amber's 3A looks so stable now, I wonder if she'll try to incorporate a second one in a combo before the Olympics, seems like a logical choice but I don't know how workable this is mid-season.

Amber has the firepower but not sure about the mental game to win when it counts. She was basically in the same position as Alysa was at Worlds but Alysa seems to welcome the pressure and Amber tries to push it away. You can often see it on their faces Alysa seems to not have a care in the world and Amber has a bit of a worried face.

Ambers 3A is really not that advantageous if she only does one and does a loop in a FS. Girl math
Her repeated jumps are flips and loops. She cannot repeat the lutz which is her worse jump.
So yeah, in that sense, her BV is not that much more than a skater with two lutzes and two flips but you gotta go with what you have.
If she were to repeat the 3a, she may still keep repeating the loop :) just to bug you :) (well, more that this is her best jump)

I don't think it's just mental. Having a 3A doesn't mean you're in perfect physical shape. At this point it's clear she struggles in general with other content. As others have noted her BV generally is not impressive as typical ultra-c performers. She fell on the Lutz in training as well. She is just extremely gifted for the axel.

She has been trying a FS layout with 2 3Axels in training, but she is preserving her body while she can. It would be interesting to see her try it at the GPF or at Nationals just to see how it plays out for her. Her spot on the US Olympic team is secure now, so she can afford the risk.

I dont think its a gifted, I think she keeps prioritizing training axel over other content and keep paying the price.

Good point. It's another possibility. It seems that this would be a self-reinforcing loop either way. I imagine she is quite gifted with it and hence knew she must crutch on it, and as it became more stable she kept crutching further, and other content was neglected.
