Honestly, with Malinin, Liu, Chock, and team event, isn't it too much gold for the USA at the olympics?

In this case : minus 2 deductions and lower PCS due to the fall = 5 points

I too would like a splash of red on the dress, but I understand why they had to lighten the skirt. Perhaps some other embellishments - epaulets??

I agree that the dress needed work done to it to prevent what we saw happen to Laurence. But, I think a section of material is more effective, as it has the double meaning of the red door in the song, and the red rag being held up to the bull in the story being told.

Maybe a smaller section than she had previously, perhaps somewhere else on the dress.

Oh yeah that was awesome!

Also Mark and Ted admitting they accidentally put the commentator's curse on Team France!

And yeah what did happen to the red lining of Madison's skirt...I understand making it shorter and all that, don't see the reason for taking out the red.

Ok. Two gold medals for Japan and USA so far….. with two events to go.

In the final two events, USA/JPN are at the top

Fall is a serious mistake in the code. So, they can't give them top PCS. It's not allowed. So, it's not just the deductions for falls it's also the PCS deductions. The difference in scores was correct.

I'm more surprised by the Brits scores. I don't hate anyone but I don't think their skating is special in any way. I don't understand their PCS tie with Piper/ Paul.

Well...I hope they're OK, I feel so bad for them... they're my faves and I feel like the judges have dumped them just in time for their home Olympics! I'd feel so anxious if I were them!

I love Madison's performance charisma and C/B's lifts but at times her skirt reminded me of bat wings and I wish it was less prominent part of their choreo/skate.

I did have that thought at times as well - bat woman!

Piper and Paul were kicked ouf of the podium by 0.06 points after skating their cleanest program of the year.
FBC fell "not on an element"

I think that's the most polite way to put it.

I am actually navigating much better than I thought I would. Now I know that Piper and Paul will not win a medal at the Olympics (same technical panel) and I have 2 months to go the 5 stages of grief.

Well, at least they have decent sized steps on this podium. Not like at some events, where there is barely room for two skaters to stand there, never mind the six that you get when they all go onto the top step for the photo!
