 For the peoples of Northern Japan. It looks like the 7.6 earthquake did make a tsunami but few people were hurt...
Chris who was responsible with his co-workers for the Tsunami warning network of the entire west coast of the US....how scary is that?
I can still see in my mind those terrible images of the March 11 2011.... hideous.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Tōhoku_earthquake_and_tsunami

YajiYaji aren't on the entry list.
Aww...I'm sad...I wonder what happened
They've only started skating together recently
Tsukasa withdrew from Tokyo Block to focus on Dance
Hope they're still a team
Haruno has had so many partners...
If it's due to injury, hope it's not too serious and they can start training again soon

Off topic. Have good thoughts for our Japanese friends....Australia had their worst flu season ever and Canada and UK are very worried about a new H3N2 strain, not in the shot.

Japan Daily

Tokyo has issued an influenza epidemic warning for the first time in 16 years after the weekly average of cases per medical institution exceeded the alert level. Infections are spreading unusually early, with more than 57,000 cases reported nationwide last week and 23 regions reaching the alert benchmark.
Hundreds of schools have closed classes since September, and hospitals are seeing a sharp rise in patients seeking treatment and vaccinations. Experts say early transmission may be linked to increased travel and large upcoming events, noting that the wave began before many people received vaccines. Authorities advise maintaining basic preventive measures while monitoring the possibility of a second strain later in the season.

Edit: I am an old man with COPD so I always get a flu shot. While the H3N2 sub group A variant IS in the shot, the H3N2 sub strain K is not.
Still, the shot offers some protection. In the 1958 Pandemic, I got so sick I was halucinating...my wife got very sick in the pandemic of 1968. That was the H3N2 also and it killed at least a million people world wide.
Let’s all wish a safe and full recovery to the people of Japan especially those who suffer from the major earthquake and tsunami. Much appreciation for hosting such a wonderful GPF event especially with traditional Taiko drums.

I think a new thread would be warranted, given the difficulty of accessing JNats outside of Japan.

Some of those pics of cars hanging over washed out/colapsed road ways were incredible. see pics below vid

I am so dedicated I am having a tooth pulled tomorrow instead of next Wednesday! OK, if anyone is interested, here are my hen scratches on how to watch Japanese TV. Please feel free to edit. Or add hints. The interfaces over the years are quite alike but not necessarily that intuitive.

Watching Japanese TV 2025 chris docs/skating V2 12-12-26 V3 12-12-26

(Edit: t. says blue bank of channels in STANDARD are “CS”)
(Edit: 12-12-26. I just bought a code for three days. I clicked on the code I want, in this case STANDARD 3 day for $3.50, put in my name and email and when I clicked on the credit card, it autofilled my card. I then hit purchase. It billed me $3.00 and took me to a download screen, which I did NOT click on. I xed out and went to my email. Within one minute, I had two emails confirming my purchase from "Digital Delivery Services" In one more minute, I had the important "SmartCloud" We have a gift for you" email with my secret 9 digit code.
(Edit: #3. Clicking on the Nozomi app on my laptop, it wouldnt accept my old log in data. So I clicked on new account. It asked for my new activate code and a password. The interface is very fussy where you put your cursor!!!! Anyway, I made a new account. see pic in lower post.
OK, I am watching Japanese TV for $3.50
I opted for Nozomi standard, 3 day trial, unlimited playback. 2 weeks back.
A few hints.
Click on the link I provided. I suggest scrolling to the bottom of the page to get an idea of what is happening. Select the $3.50 3 day trial for STANDARD ONLY.
You put in a name, an email , and a credit card. Hit purchase.
Ignore “download.” Its an ad.
Check email. you soon will get a code number. from SMARTCLOUDSERVICE, IIRC. There is a big red "Help" button on the main website and people will really try and help you or give you a refund.
Now, the hard part.
Go back to the Nozomi web page and scroll down to the bottom where it says how to load it onto your PC.
Link didnt work for me so I right clicked on it and copied the Url.
I pasted the URL into my browser. The browser said it was unsafe, which they warn you about. I went to it anyway. You then make up a password and hit enter. (I used Chrome)
Voila!
You see the screen with all the channels.
I went to #18, which is BS Fuji. This is a “for instance” at the time I made this. There are no channel numbers on the website.
YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE PLAYER INTERFACE TO LEARN HOW TO CHANGE CHANNEL BANKS.
NOW, click the grayed part of the screen that is showing video. The whole right half, if you want to watch live. Playback of days in the past is a bit tougher but not bad. Hey, even I can do it.

Experiment. To get familiar with the interface. Experiment and remember what works and what doesnt.

A few more hints. Moving the mouse will bring up what show is coming up next at the top of the screen. Use your google translate app on your phone to read them. Moving the mouse will also bring up the semi familiar youtube moving bar with the typical "get back to where you were" buttons for changing times and channels. Video and audio are fine. Another hint. Once the 3 days runs out, you can purchase another 3 days at any time and log in and put in the new code number. I am on narcotics due to recovery from a biopsy so I apologize if any of this is wrong. Maybe tomorrow I will by a code and check things out and ad to this.

Isn't this simple answer ? I don't think there are needed to be complicated.
Do you use this? Perhaps you can create a user's guide for us ! I do have a VPN with Japan...but I dont have a Yen for technology :palmf: Sorry, the devil made me do it.

Isn't this simple answer ? I don't think there are needed to be complicated.
The biggest issue is that FOD is region blocked to Japan viewers only
Viewers outside of Japan can only access FOD with a VPN that is not detectable by the site
Not many VPNs, particularly free ones are able to do this
Even when they manage to access the site many people experience difficulties trying to sign up for a subscription
Some can't get pass entering the required information or their credit card / form of payment is not accepted
I've had a subscription for many years but will still regularly be blocked from the service, sometimes during an event and have to put a lot of effort into accessing the stream again

FOD will often send out messages saying that recording and sharing content from their service is illegal and users found doing this will be punished (totally understandable)
They also mention that accessing their service by VPN is strictly prohibited

They intentionally make it difficult for people outside of Japan to use their service
