Edit: Wind gusts now predicted to be 70 mph. Last time it was 70, as I said, we lost two big trees and tops of other drought weakened trees. Flooding in Western WA. Raining now and record 55 degree highs expected. In Spokane, the river is at 1900 ft ASL and we are at 2495.

The Spokane wind storm of November 17, 2015, was a historic natural disaster that brought near-hurricane-force winds, causing widespread power outages, massive property damage, and two fatalities. It is considered one of the most destructive weather events in the region's history.
The storm produced maximum wind gusts up to 71 mph at Geiger (Spokane International Airport area), near the 74 mph threshold of a Category 1 hurricane. The event set the record for the strongest "non-thunderstorm associated winds" in the region.

• Power Outages: The storm caused the largest crisis in Avista Utilities' history. An estimated 238,000 total customers lost power across Eastern Washington and North Idaho. In the hardest-hit areas of Spokane, 83% of customers were without electricity for at least five days, and some outages lasted for nearly two weeks. Utility crews from as far away as Canada and Northern California came to assist in the restoration efforts.
• I was lucky. My two big Colorado blue Spruces fell together during the 70 mph Gust...but away from the house.

"Yes. After the West Japan competition, I was told the one from last year was better, and well... it was put very bluntly, so I felt I had no choice but to revert (laughs). And since last year's was better, I thought, 'What if reverting makes it worse?' So I really didn't want to... Do we know anything about Mana Kawabe's 3A? Is she trying it again?

Edit: According to Jackie Wong on X, it seems that Mayuko may also try the 3A in the short program, and that Mana Kawabe and Mako Yamashita may attempt the 3A in the free skate, as they’ve been trying it in official practice. In Mana’s case, she even landed some clean ones. Rinka is trying the 4S again like, girl, what are you doing?

2nd Edit: Saikki Ikanda may attempt the 3A in the free as well and it's now guaranteed Mayuko will attempt the triple axel in the short

It is regrettable that much like Moné Chiba's SP this season, she has abandoned pieces by Japanese composers and
reverted to standard repertoire. However, if certain success is guaranteed, it is no challenge.
I wish to commend them for taking on that challenge.
