the pre-Olympic nerves seem to be getting to a lot of the girls, even Kaori and baby Mao hopefully they can put that behind them and all skate their best

It is regrettable that much like Moné Chiba's SP this season, she has abandoned pieces by Japanese composers and
reverted to standard repertoire. However, if certain success is guaranteed, it is no challenge.
I wish to commend them for taking on that challenge.

I have often thought of why Japanese and Chinese skaters dont use more traditional home grown music. I certainly listen to it while I work on my computer...much of it perhaps doesnt lend itself to short story telling....My wife and I like the music of "Kitaro" , but maybe that too doesnt lend itself to skating programs.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye_dHSbCxoU

Save my comment, Mana Kawabe, Saki Miyake and Mako Yamashita, will deliver because they don't have nothing to lose basically and they are in good shape

30 skaters down, 30 more to go! I'm really sleep-deprived and I'm going to cry a lot (Mai, Wakaba, Yuna, and Kaori are all retiring this season) but I'm so excited for this event. This event is arguably more competitive from 30th to 1st than the Olympics are.

An almost-perfect skate from Mako to start us out, her skating skills and knee bend are so good and that 3+3 was magical, the GOE she gets on her elements is so well deserved. It's such a shame about the flip but that step sequence is such a delight.
