2026 U.S.Nationals Senior Women Short Program

Tara said that Elyce said she wants to fall back in love with the sport. I understand getting so frustrated and disappointed that you lose that love, but to continue on without that love must be draining. I hope she finds the love again.

Elyce's face gives me nothing...I am more impressed by her persistence is coming back from injury rather than artistry. Maybe I am just getting tired, but I am so tired of the skating princess. Also what is her personal Broken Vow that motivated her choice of this program.

The continuous playing of Rocky, The Final Countdown is like hitting everyone over the head again and again with the significance of this event
Right! I don’t like the added pressure on these athletes either. It reminds me of how Bela Karolyi stood so close to the competition floor and stared down the gymnasts as they performed routines at the 2000 Olympic Trials. No wonder so many of them crashed and burned. :(

This answers my question from a later post

Am I the only one who doesn't like this short program for Sarah?

I didn't like it from the first time I saw her skate it, and I still don't. She skated it well, but it's missing something for me. After memorable skates to it from Bourne & Kraatz and Jason Brown, you have to really bring it for this music. For me, Sarah doesn't bring it.
