That's what I mean. The split group is nothing new, and I'm sure they try to do it as fairly as possible. I was there for the early group too

But it happened then and I don’t think again until now.

Alysa's Lady Gaga program is so bad. There's no emotion, no cohesion, nothing visually special.

Amber Glenn being 3-time national champ is great to see. Hope she can do her best at the Olympics, she's due for a big result on the world level. The end of her program needs better choreography.

I believe that they only have one spot and it will be Adeliia Petrosian since she won Russian championship (with some thinking that the score was cook) . But if she skate a clean FS with 2 4T, she will be the one to beat. I'm sorry but that is the reality.

Alysa's Gaga is a dissapointment for me. It just not vibing anything different and special, looks similar to her previous free and Gaga screams for more. Choreo is simple and empty, comparing to other top girls. She's lovely but the program doesn't live up to all the talk around it. Dress is great though.

It is the very first showing of Alysa's Gaga program. It needs lots of work. She says she may go back to MacArthur Park for the Olympics.

I can see why she wanted to go out in that dress. It is awesome!

The Olympic formula for Alysa is MP with 3A. Maybe add a few more wild flourishes to st sq and it's a gold medal. 3A, 3lz/3t, 3f, 3s, 3lz/2a/2a, 3f/2t, 3lp. She wasn't even breathing hard after last night's program; she could pull this off.

Promise is perfect. If she could add a 3A to it that would be a bonus.

What an incredible privilege to be there live last night. Standing ovations for the top 4 (and half of one for Sarah), Bradie even got a tear out of me lol. I could not be happier for them. Sophie, Starr, Sherry and Logan were great too.

I think that for Alysa team, they know that they have nothing to lose to try the new Gaga program at National.
I think Alysa want to share this program for her fans who were asking to brought back this program.
Now that it's done! Gaga fans will have seen what it looks like once it's all packaged up with the costume, etc.
And now Alysa knows what the judges think of this program compared to her MacArthur Park.
Now it's Alysa's turn to decide which program she wants at the Olympic Games. I believe that no matter which one she chooses, a triple axel will be necessary if she wants the Olympic gold medal.

IMHO Alyssa, who is a beautiful skater, is leaning too much into this whole "I'm just a rebel skater doing my own thing" schtick. This anything goes attitude may cost her a medal at the Olympics. Her new program needs to marinate a bit more, to get fully polished for the Olympics. Right now its more of a "skate around show program", and not Olympic -ready. Alyssa can bring the fire-power to the Olympics, and is very capable of medaling, but not sure this is the program for it. Hopefully I'll be eating these words come mid-February!

I'm not sure she cares about whether she medals or not. I also think she'll use MacArthur Park at the Olys - she has said its up in the air which she uses. I love her attitude - I'm happy to see that she seems HAPPY to skate.

My prediction is that Alyssa will go back to the Donna Summer's program for the Olympics, which I don't approve of.

I posted what I wanted to say in women's short.
All top 3 could win Olympics or medal without any assistance from other skaters mistakes. It helps though.

Amber skates well . She still shows nerves but it greatly improved in handling them. She does need to land her 3a in both short and long.She improves in her artistic.


Alysa to me can skate either program and still to well although the judges know the other one better MacArthur park or Promise. Both are excellent
She just needs to do what she always does . Make sure she clean. She had enough if she wants to add 3a it up to her not us.


Isabeau has the lovely qualities. She needs to keep improve. She does do well. I didnt see the ur on back of 1st jumping pass. I thought Both finished in air before landed.
She need to do what she always does.

Non of the ladies need to make extravagant changes for olympics.

The women event is excellent. The placement of the 18 skaters could change based on skates. The door and score room was open for the women to have excellent skates.
Which they did. They show why nationals is hard.great job

Yes, best US ladies team EVER! Beyond their fabulous technical and performance capabilities they display true sportsmanship and the Olympic spirit! I hope there is a future documentary about these 3 - how they show individual and collective excellence!

It should never have gotten to this place that Alysa had to basically debut a new FS at Nationals where she will have no feedback from international judges on this program. Between this and the missing 3axel that she said was coming this whole season has been badly planned by her and her team. Yes i get she's going to do what she wants and dances to her own music and says results don't matter but if your a athlete you still plan to do the best that you can do and not just act like competing don't matter.

A lot of people have been saying that the whole situation with her original SP kinda screwed her over in that they didn't want to reuse both programs but since they were basically forced to reuse the short they had to do a new free.

And I agree it's not ideal but I'm not exactly sure how you're supposed to avoid the kind of thing that happened with her original short program (if you don't know what happened basically one of the artists for that program's music was found with the dead body of a missing teenage girl who was also his former girlfriend).
