2026 U.S.Nationals Senior Women Free Skate

Emilia has huge potential please let's hope she's not like most of ladies of the last 15-20 who had huge potential but were not good competitors. Seems like the most consistent US Ladies from that time period were the weaker skaters who were never going to be World or Olympic champions.

When I grow up, I want to be as cool and talented as Sonja Hilmer is, the attention to detail in this program is insane, and I'm sure it's even more remarkable if you're familiar with the show this program is based on. She does so many unique things, from opening up the program with her 2A to her cool spin positions to her 3S+2A+2S combo. I know she's struggled a bit with some health stuff recently, so she might not have had all of the training she wanted heading in Nationals, but she still delivered such a memorable program.

I agree, spinning in other direction is so hard to do, I spin ccw on ice and cw off ice, so my training on spiner just doesn't transfer to better spins :shrug:

Sonia is unbelievable :jump3::love4:

Oh I love Sonja so much, she represent everything that I love in skating and a direction I would love this sport to lean towards (variety of movements and ideas, creativity, multidirections). I also like her music choice (Eason Chan is a class).

so what now? pairs?
There is a 2h20 minute break until the second half of the pairs' free starts, but the men just started for Canadian Nationals, there is a free livestream on Dailymotion with Mark and Ted doing commentary. Yet again, the scheduling for US Nats is asinine and Canada has the best streaming ever.

i'm teleporting myself there

it makes no sense to split the event this way.
I've been to at least one nationals where it was split this way (maybe dance & men, not pairs and women).

My understanding was that it had to do with the people who bought tickets for the arena, not the tv schedule.
