For all the people who are complaining about how appearance and whatnot shouldn't matter and how people are being shallow to comment on her hair - didn't you notice all three of the top women are commenting on dresses and the parents and whatnot at the press conference last night? Anyway, I'm a teacher so I've seen all manner of bizarre haircuts and personal Styles as part of expressing one's individuality might not - so nothing's really a shock to me. But when you're going into something like the olympics, where every millisecond or 10th of a point matter, and where appearance and perception are huge, I personally think it's not a bad idea to do whatever you can to set yourself up for the greatest success wherever possible.

And I personally don't like the hair lol. And while I'm not sure keeping last year's program was the best idea, I prefer it a million times more than what I've seen of the Lady Gaga program this year. I do not think it will stand up well too her competitors, unfortunately. I think her short program is the best short program in the last quadrennial, by far. Maybe even the last two quadrennials. But the Lady Gaga program is not on the same level...

I also don't like her hair. But, it isn't my hair its hers so why would I care? I personally don't. But, realistically, we are all judged by our appearances. People in business, in sport, in daily life make judgements based on our style. However, in the end, if the "interesting" hairstyle affects her scores, she is the one who will suffer. So, I don't think the federation should say anything. She's an adult and can make her own decisions and take her own risks.

About the program, I won't judge until I see it performed in competition.

Someone on another site said they were sitting by some USFS officials who were complaining about her new hair, they were saying it's "not appropriate for Milan" and were making a big fuss about it.

Someone should just play Ilia's recorded voiceover for the so-called officials: "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing."

I love Sophie's dress - it is gorgeous. She is on my watch team. She is developing nicely. Great 3A both of them. I've seen the quad it is really pretty good, I also like the program for her it has helped her develop a nice style.

Lol! She's always been good about putting herself to bed if she's extra tired. She wavers between wailing "I waaaaaant youuuuuu" and flatly telling us to go away at bedtime. I dared facetime my grandmother while she was reading books at bedtime last week and after a while, she told me without even looking up, "Mommy, I want to read these without you."

Oooookay kiddo. Good night I guess. She's a riot.

Sofie Jolene is such a great edge jumper. Her toe jumps otho tend to lack height and rotation. It's interesting to see that contrast. She's not a PCS skater but she is trying to perform this year which is more than I noticed last year. I don't love her style but I appreciate her bravery.

The US Ladies are in good hands with the likes of Sophie and Emilia coming up in the next few years. If i was Sophie i think i move up to Senior next season she turns 17 in just a few months.

Impressive elements, perfect styling, but there were a lot of windmill arms. I would have like it more if she had mimiced actual flamenco dancers with the arms
