Does anyone else wish their was less aerial video shots for this ice dance comp? I want to be able to continuously see skaters feet closer up.

China just loooves that ceiling camera - most of us haaaaate it

See, Natalia and Jayin: these costumes from REN Junfei / XING Jianing (CHN) work a lot better!

Junfei wearing an all royal blue dress, while Jianing was wearing a royal blue shirt and black trousers.

Music wasn't my taste. But they were good.

I struggled to connect with that programme and some of it seemed a bit of a struggle for them.

My baby Kazakh team is all grown up. Their technique has improved quite a bit. The program is nothing unique but I think they are learning as many styles as they can. I hope they will be excellent ice dance teachers when they are done skating as amateurs.

Boyisangur is quite the name. I agree with Chris that the basic skills need work still. Don't know how much practice time they get.

The camera work is better than the 'arty' stuff for the French GP, but I do like to be able to see edges.

I have always really liked Gaukhar NAURYZOVA / Boyisangur DATIEV (KAZ).

But I really hate this music they are skating to.

I still enjoyed their skating, though.

Both wearing black. (I really like what Gaukhar has done with her hair).

Kirill Khaliavin and a representative from the Kazakh fed with them. Kirill looks as sleepy as he did when he was at Europeans with Sofía Val / Asaf Kazimov last week!

They go into 5th position.

I noticed that Chris has started pronouncing Paul's surname with one syllable (sounds like "air") rather than the two (rhymes with "higher") that we are used to hearing.

Which is right?

I think she is more capable of doing different styles than he is.
She is from Laval, Quebec and he is from Calgary, Alberta and I think it shows.
I may be way off on this , but I am sure someone will call me out.

Very adventurous music choice by the team from Japan. This is why we need them in this event. Apparently Rinky thinks twizzles are snacks...bad Rinky!

Well done! That's one my fav rhytm dance. A little issue on the twizzles but the levels of steps were great. They are not tall but they skate big, those walls were close quite few times.

They were still good, though.

I was surprised when I was doing my research for my predictions, and found that they have been together three years. I thought they were new last season.

Decent skate from Japan Yoshida and Morita. Nice score
