I'm sorry for Ilya but also he was so cocky. His program is white boy struggle with his own voice like, he didnt seem to embrace the storm much did he?

Today humility wins, very deserved win for Misha.
I am truly happy for Mikhail but it is kind o fvunfortunate he is not a well rounded sater and he did it when everyone else messed up. Part of the game but he is not going to be remembered as awesome medallist, or awesome progroa or awesome aristry or aesome tech. He just won because everyoen crashed. A win. The real winner and wih some proper judging really is the Canadian boy who was under 1.5 points from bronze now that is the story.

THIS SURELY HAS TO BE THE BIGGEST OLYMPIC UPSET IN FIGURE SKATING HISTORY??
Nah. Not for me. There was still a chance Yuma could catch up, if Illia made big errors.

Valieva on the other hand, before the drug bust, was coming up with Men's scores, I had her in as a shoo-in. And we know what happened there. :no3:

Still shocked he ends up as low as he has.

Wow, I was sure that Mallinin would win on one leg. And now he's only 8th!!!

I'm so happy for Mikael.

This was the craziest competition I've ever watched.
It's like women's snowboarding half pipe last night where there was heavy snow and none of the athletes could complete a run without hitting either the lip at the top or the ground at the bottom. The medalists were only to complete a single run out of three.

No awesome tech for Misha? Come on now. He is ofc no Patrick Chan but his jumps are SOLID!!!

Oh Ilia. The anguish. I never saw him as cocky or arrogant, he is always so effusive about other skaters, he just knew he was capable of something special. Just not today. I hope we see him again in four years. And I hope he continues to improve his artistry and not focus solely on jumps, because when the jumps fail you, there's not much left.

I personally cannot feel pain over who wins or loses the Olympics because Michelle Kwan's first loss gutted me so badly it made me immune.

...I need a drink. I need several drinks, in fact, I'm torn between being thrilled for Misha and Shun and heartbroken for Ilia and Adam and somehow not too sad for Yuma, even though he skated poorly here he still got a silver medal and his best friend is on the podium now.

2030 is going to be sooooo exciting though, I think most of the top men are going to stick around and they are all going to grow and learn so much.
