Well skated women! Also well judged, imo. Kaori and Mona seem to have first and second in hand but I wouldn't count Amber out. She is a warrior and I can see her using her position as the hunter to her good.

As big a fan I am of Kaori, I do believe Mone should have won this SP. Sakamoto had the flutz and an insecure 2A landing, which had me so worried she was going to fall off the landing edge. I guess she got the 1st place nod given it’s her last competitive SP as well as her stellar track record and the fact that she covers more ice and has more presence than Chiba, whose skating is smaller. Good for Amber to grit it out and hold on for her 1st world medal, a small bronze. Any of the top 3 can win given how they all skate; should be an exciting watch!

Mone Chiba brought it together too as well, her skating skills are second to none and all tech elements were clean, she's very close behind Sakamoto and I think she got a PB in the SP too.

Love that Mone brought back the original Last Dance dress, I like this one much better than the shedding purple one

I'm now hoping that she brings back her Juliet dress from the early season, it was so delicately Renaissance. The new one isn't bad & it fitted Milano rink colours but the early one is really a hit.

Yes, you are correct. I retract my complaint that it didn't receive a review. That combo got a solid negative GOE, as was warranted.

I have a feeling she will. She was dissapointed with her 4th place and I think she wants different costumes to free herself from that energy.

A little shout-out to one of my favorite "under the radar" skaters.

Sarah Everhart had a very solid SP with a good technical score. 3Z-3T, 2A, 3Lpx. All squeaky clean with very good GOE.

She needs to be more consistent with her spin and step levels and improve her components, but she's a lot better than people give her credit for.
