Maybe it was intended to mean his last outing this season. However, it makes sense if it’s his last competitive skate too. He has 2 Olympic silver medals and is not likely to become World Champion as long as Malinin and Shaidorov stay in. Also, his compatriot, Rio Nakata, the 2-time Jr. World Champion is very likely to dethrone him nationally as he ascends to the senior level.
