2026 Rooster Cup Lakes Trophy | Apr 4-6

With the withdrawal of skater #20 Sasha SAJINOVIC (FRA) from Group 4 on top of starting the competition 10 minutes early, the final resurfacing of the day started about 15 minutes earlier than planned.

We did lose some of the time gained when the penultimate skater in the group, #22 Eva HOUSSIN (FRA) (who is actually due to be doing her programme now!) had to wait a VERY long time for her scores.

I do hope they bring the remaining girls and boys forward.

Right, the final group of girls is now starting their Warm-Up... at the time the resurfacing was supposed to begin.

I'm stupid. I didn't think to count how many were coming out onto the ice, to find out if the two boys were in this Warm-Up group too.

CaroLiza_fan

And that is the completion of the Lakes Trophy for the Junior girls.

Hard to believe that we just have two Junior boys left, and the opening day will be over.

CaroLiza_fan

That's a good start. They played the wrong music for the first boy, Gabin le MAROIS (FRA).

Thankfully, it didn't take too long to sort out. Which is a good job, because I really liked the correct music! I would love to know what it was!

Skating was good too.

After the Bosnian girl earlier, Gabin is another that decided to have a wee lie down!

Pierre LECADRE (FRA) brought the curtain down on the opening day.

And the sun setting provided the perfect backdrop to his programme. The colour tones coming through the window just seemed to fit the music perfectly.

He wins.

CaroLiza_fan

Now that was perfect timing. The final skater of the day has just got his scores, and my evening meal is now ready.

See you again tomorrow. Same bat time. Same bat channel.

Hang on. They are now dismantling the results area. Are they going to have the Podium Ceremonies there?

Right, I'll pause the stream just in case that is what is happening.

CaroLiza_fan

Just came back, and what was happening is that they were taking the backdrop boards from the results area out onto the ice to become the backdrop boards for the podium, which was assembled out on the ice.

However, the podium was on the opposite side of the backdrop boards to the camera that was being used (the static camera on the window side of the arena that was used during the Warm-Ups). So, although the stream stayed on air for the Podium Ceremonies, we saw nothing! :palmf:

If only they had used the moving camera on the other side of the arena that was used during the programmes, then we would have seen everything.

We're back for Day 2, and we begin with the Chicks / Cubs competitions. 2 boys; followed by what was supposed to be 19 girls. But, 2 of them have already withdrawn.

Livestream for the Chicks / Cubs FS competitions is now on air

Here is the link for today's stream:

I'm currently eating my breakfast, and so will be drifting behind during the Chicks / Cubs as I pop back and forth to the kitchen. But, I should get caught up again at the resurfacing.

Hope this helps

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

And we have the same problem as when we had at the start of Day 1. No sound.

Hopefully they will realise as quickly as they did yesterday.

CaroLiza_fan

As well as the absence of sound, it seems that they are also having camera issues. It looks like only the static camera is working. But unfortunately, it is blanking out a lot.

I might just pop out and make my next slice of toast.

Oh, hang on, the camera in the results area is now working for the second boy getting his scores. Hopefully the main camera will be working for the first girl's programme.

CaroLiza_fan

Well, the main camera was in use for the second girl. But we were seeing more blank screens than we were seeing of her.

This is looking like it is going to be a trying morning for the technicians: trying to get us sound AND trying to get the cameras behaving.

CaroLiza_fan

Yay, we got sound during the third girl's programme! :cheer:

I can't remember the last time I saw somebody skating to "Lucky" by Britney Spears.

The cameras were still misbehaving during her programme. But, hopefully that will calm down shortly.

CaroLiza_fan

I just realised - that was Bruno Massot that was sitting with a lot of the kids that we have had so far (including the Romanian girl that we just had).

Is this the club he belongs to? And is he doing like Simon Briggs does at the events in Dundee - providing company and reasurrance for the skaters that don't have their own coach with them.

If so, good on you Bruno!  :points:

Phew. The graphic was just about big enough to fit in the name of skater #7, Aryana AGHA MOHAMMAD SADEGH (FRA).

I take it that she and skater #15 in the next group, Dayana AGHA MOHAMMAD SADEGH (FRA), are sisters.

It would have been nice to see them in the same group, if not back-to-back. But, they will be skating closer together than in the original schedule, because THREE of the skaters in between them are now down as withdrawals.

Anyway, Aryana was wearing a black dress and skating to an instrumental of "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps". (Or should I say an instrumental of "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás"? 🤔 )

She looks disappointed waiting for her scores.

She goes into 6th and penultimate position.

CaroLiza_fan

Well, the costume that the final skater in Group 2, #12 Eileen RIVIERE (FRA), was definitely appropriate for the music. It was a "Grease" programme, to "Hopelessly Devoted To You" and "You're The One That I Want". But I would not say it was appropriate for her age.

She was wearing a black vest with a low neckline, and a pink skirt.

After using just the static camera for most of the morning, they tried the main camera again during her programme. But it was still going blank frequently.

When technology works smoothly, it is great. But when it misbehaves, it is a pain in the backside.

She goes into 6th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Ach, Dayana AGHA MOHAMMAD SADEGH (FRA) just had two grown-ups sitting with her. I was hoping Aryana would be sitting with her, so we could judge how alike they are.

Dayana was wearing a red dress. I didn't know the music she was skating to, but I liked it.

She seemed a lot happier waiting for her scores than Aryana did.

Dayana goes into 4th position. Six positions and 8.75 points ahead of Aryana.

Ah, I just remembered. The next competition, the Chicks Men's FS, only had one entry, and he withdrew. So, this interval is probably going to be longer than usual to take up to the Chicks Ladies FS start time.

Or, maybe not. Because we're starting the girls now.

Ignore the graphic. They have put up the start order for Group 3 of this competition instead of for Group 1.

Ignore the graphic. They have put up the start order for Group 3 of this competition instead of for Group 1.

It's the correct graphic now.

When I saw there were only 4 names on it, I was wondering if there had been withdrawals. But then I realised that they probably planned to have the boy in this Warm-Up group as well, so there were less girls put into this group to keep all three groups a similar size (5/6/6). And with the withdrawal of him and one of the girls in the final group, it unbalanced things (it's now 4/6/5).

CaroLiza_fan

Mmmm. The first of the French girls to skate, #2 Rose CALATAYUD (FRA), has the same surname as a Spanish motorbike racer, Unai CALATAYUD, who last season rode for a team that I always thought was French, but I just found out that they are actually from Valencia. So, never mind.

Anyway, she goes into 2nd position.
