I kind of cringe when I see posters using the skater's nickname especially if they don't go by that name in competition. Misha or Sasha or whatever. I always think you don't really know this person and that's kind of too familiar. The only worse thing is using initials. I rarely know who you're talking about.

I am guilty of all of your pet peeves... Sometimes I write : what a skate !!!! WOW !!! Clean as a whistle... or things like that... and forget to write the name.

Sometimes I write like you "what a skate !!!! WOW !!! Clean as a whistle" and then remember to write the names after. (Lajoie/Baker)

I am looking forward to writing many similar comments about La/Ba over the next 4 years.

I think 'Bakerie' has entirely taken hold with a sweetness that is mouthwatering and anticipatory. The skating skills alone! Combine that with yummy 'pastry chef' aesthetic skills, and I will be happily sated.

I just watched it and it made me really happy seeing them talking so cheerfully and fun. I've seen a few Marjorie's interviews before but I don't think I've seen her with such a gorgeous smile and happy voice before. Maybe I just picked wrong videos, but still. Let me congratulate them all from the bottom of my heart. Looking forward to seeing them at NHK.

HAHA . They obviously read GS. I mean when I started calling Lajoie-Lagha LaLa, it stuck with them. The nickname made national news LOL.

Loved the podcast!! it was cool to hear they read GS and liked Bakerie, so its official now! i didn't know JL wanted to come back all this time. i was curious to hear how often he's skated since his last season if at all and would like to hear him talk more about that. i was surprised this partnership was THAT new. like fresh out of the womb new. i had sort of assumed things had been cooking behind the scenes for a while but not at all. i'm so excited to see them on the ice and what they come up with for programs. and since they read here, best of luck JL on your journey of getting back in shape!

LOL! That's so cool. They clearly are aware that a bunch of nicknames were being discussed. It's great they know about 'Bakerie' and love it! Wasn't it a GS member who coined it? That fan needs to take full credit.

This was a fun podcast with lots of revealing moments. To summarize:

Marjo & JL love the 'Bakerie' nickname! Sweet.

It was Marie-France who asked Jean-Luc if he was still interested in skating. When JL said, 'Yes,' MFD suggested he tryout with Marjo [after her split with Zach].

Liv revealed that JL deeply desired to continue skating, and as a result, he'd once, out of the blue, asked to skate with her. But she was already fully committed to her career with Tim. During the podcast, JL also admitted to feeling like he was missing the final fulfillment of his on-ice competitive goals. Liv praised Marjo for giving JL the gift of returning to competitive ice, since she couldn't give him that herself.

Marjo & JL are apparently accepting only one GP at NHK, because JL has a bunch of off-ice contracts he has to fulfill. As a result, they have to work even harder to find training time to pull everything together. Skate Canada happens too early on the GP circuit, which is why they won't be there.

Marjorie has a whole ice rink named after her already. Amazeballs! Bless her.
