Would You Rather...

Take medications orally

WYR order show tickets in advance or take your chances the day of the show?
I guess order in advance? We never bought tickets to a performance spontaneously at the last minute so I don't know how that works, good or bad.

WYR board your pet when you have to go away, or pay a pet sitter to come in and tend them a couple of times a day? (I suppose the question really is "would your pet prefer...". We had cats of different personalities who had decided preferences one way or the other.)

I don't have a pet, but if I did I would pay a pet sitter to come in for a couple of days.

WYR read a book on Kindle/Nook or the old school way?

WYR read a book on Kindle/Nook or the old school way?
Definitely a "real" book. E-readers give me migraines.

WYR, as an adult, take formal night school classes in a new subject and get credits towards a diploma, or join a club and learn a new skill at your own pace just for fun?

Wash, I like washing the dishes for seeing the immediate effect of my effort :)

WYR buy ready-made preserves in a shop or prepare them yourself (and possibly store in a cellar) :) ?

Definitely buy them! There's an old favourite family legend about the time my grandfather and uncle looked at the good crop of peaches in trees in their garden, and decided to prove to my grandmother and aunt that they could preserve fruit just as well as the ladies could. So the men set to work (they all lived in the same large house), while their wives went shopping. All was fine for some weeks, with colourful rows of glass jars on shelves in the basement. Until the night when what sounded like war broke out in the cellar as the jars exploded one by one.

Grandpa and his son-in-law thought it was hilarious. Their wives told them if they wanted to show they could be just as domesticated as women, they could prove it by cleaning up every bit of the mess themselves. Good-naturedly, they admitted defeat and scrubbed down the basement of all the fermented fruit and broken glass. No peach crop that year, but it made for a favourite family memory!

WYR do minor house repairs yourself (if you had no family member available to do them), or always pay a good reliable handyman to do them for you?

Pay a handyman to do the ones my husband can't do (He's pretty good @ some of the minor repairs).

WYR listen to music on your phone or on an actual CD?

WYR listen to music on your phone or on an actual CD?
Has to be a CD. I don't own a smart phone and have never heard music played on someone else's, so I can't choose. (I do have a tiny old cell phone that just makes calls, when I need a taxi ride home from an appointment. Doesn't take pictures or do text messages or connect to the internet. It lives in my purse, turned off except when I use it to make that one brief call.)

WYR buy a home (condo or house) or rent?

Buy a home

WYR use the air conditioner or ceiling fan on those "in between" days?
The fan, because my condo is all electric and using the baseboard heating in winter or the AC in summer raises my hydro electric bill a lot. The fan draws less power and doesn't cost as much.

WYR work with the general public, in person, or in an office, privately or seeing just the same few people?

I guess in person (which I did as a teacher). On the other hand, if the people involved are really unpleasant, then maybe just to see the same few people (the pleasant ones, of course).

WYR sit up front or a few rows back @ a concert?

The only concerts I go to are symphonies or similar, where almost all the performers are seated and don't move around. It's necessary to sit further up/back so you can see the whole stage and everyone on it.

WYR have your own fruit trees on your property or buy fruit in a store?

(This is a trick question. We bought the house where we used to live partly because it had several cherry and plum trees and mature grape vines on the back fence. The birds would get to the ripe crops first, stuff their greedy little beaks, and then make a bombing run up the driveway leaving purple splatters on any cars parked there. 🐦🐦‍⬛🚗🚙:angry2::palmf:)

Buy fruit in a store (unfortunately I don't have a "green thumb.")

WYR rent/stream or own your favorite movies?
Own, definitely and decidedly! If I want to watch a favourite movie or TV series, I want to have my own copy right there on DVD, available at any time. Not owning a TV set anymore, I don't really understand what "streaming" is, but it seems to involve being told by some network or company that you're forced to watch what they feel like showing you, and for a limited time. No, thank you :no2:

WYR have lived in a previous century (any era that interests you) as long as your health was good, or are you happier to live now?
