LOL! I was on the verge of revolting if they didn't. That included nasty emails to the ISU over their dance judging.
Good old TSN (I think anyway...or CTV) showed Virtue and Moir when they won the Novice title...I fell in love and have been watching them ever since.
i meant in the realm of ice dance.

I saw Virtue and Moir compete at nationals in Saskatoon in 2003 I think. When we saw them warming up we thought they were so cute (they did a flamenco number) as they were a foot shorter than everyone else. Then they skated and we were floored by how good they were. Used to worry that she would grow taller than him, thank goodness that never happened!!!

I did not realize that Tessa had surgery on both shins. Is that a common

I am not a fan of either of the top teams... I like V/M's FD over D/W's but the right team won...
Is it just me or did Meryl look like she didn't feel very well? Her voice sounded tight, too... hopefully she's not the latest victim of the nasty cold/flu thing that's going around this year.

Oh please yourself. Canadians were overscored here, we're likely to be overscored at Worlds and nobody will be surprised. Probably more than a little indignant, though.
Such an emotional award ceremony on the part of Meryl Davis ~ you could tell how much this means to her (& Charlie) ~ all that hard work paid off big time!!!!!!
It touched my heart to see Scott Moir being so supportive of his partner, when she said "sorry", he said "there's nothing to be sorry about, you did great!"
That's what being a c-o-u-p-l-e is all about, to be there through both the good times & the bad. On a purely personal note, this is the first time I've seen their FD & it was by far my absolute favorite! ROCK ON!
And, yes, I totally agree that Emily&Evan desperately need a piece of music that will do them justice next year! *hint SNF or Titanic*

I've never heard of it happening before. From what I understand it is a very rare overuse injury.

Well, this D/W fan is thrilled! I just knew they were going to do it...that FD of theirs is awesome and just gets better each time out.
Meryl (who is not overly emotional) looked like she was trying not to cry when the National anthem was played. I could tell they were so happy. They have had such a dream season and so deserve it for working so very hard. On the podium every time and three Gold medals this season! Wow. Just wow.

I read in the article posted below that Tessa is still in pain. She says it's a different type of pain, but that footwork is extra tough. I doubt they're training as much as they normally would be. And to consider all of that and they still did as well as they did?

Tessa suffered from chronic exertional compartment syndrome, which as you said, stems from overtraining.

In that case, they should not be competing. I hate seeing anybody competing in pain. She really should have taken off and saved her body for 2010.

WAY TO GO!, MERYL & CHARLIE!! What a banner season this has been for them - Skate Canada gold, Cup of Russia bronze, Grand Prix Final bronze, US National gold, 4 Continents Cup gold! They must be thrilled! 
Also, many congrats to Tessa & Scott and Emily & Evan for silver and bronze!
I can't wait to see all their programs!
