2009/2010 Programs

Would you mind giving a brief summary of what was discussed in the video?

It's about how Isabelle and Olivier train now that Isabelle is pregnant. Isa says that sometimes she feels her baby react to the music. The journalist explains that Marie-France and Patrice are choreographing them and that although Isabelle practices with Olivier, the latter practices the lifts with Marie-France. Then Marie-France says that she placed the lifts in a way that it would be easy for Isabelle to learn after and that visually she can learn them. Then Isabelle says that she studies the lifts to learn them quicker afterwards. The journalist and Isabelle erxplain that she does a lot of off-ice ppreparation, especially concerning her balance. Then Olivier says that he is careful with Isabelle to make sure she doesn't get hurt when he falls and stuff. Then Muriel says that once Isabelle fell and she got really scared, so she's really careful too.

If you go to "emission du 28/06", there's a vid on Isabelle and Olivier. At 2min20 there's some music which I suppose is their FD. Does anybody know what it is?

another lame roational lift created by marie-france -________-
gasp....piano-y music? hopefully its their "practice" music. i'd doubt they'd air their music choice on live tv....

p.s.isabelle is so cute skating hahahah CAREFUL!!!!!

Miki's new exhibition is simply phenomenal. It shows, once again, that she definitely is able to handle complex choreography. And it looks as if she is not focused on every move, but just skates with music. I'm really impressed.
Her double axel is a thing of beauty, too.

Does anyone know who did Ando's new EX program? It's a great and doesn't look Morozov at all. Is it by Kenji Miyamoto?

Sarah Meier:
SP - Samba
LP - R&J, she's using both the Rota and Prokofiev versions
(source: Passion Patinage and Meier's website)

BTW, after this thread gets a little longer, I will be doing a cliff notes version again.
I think we're well past that point... A cliff notes version - by anyone! - would be greatly appreciated (I'm too lazy ).

Even using some of it, the Prokofiev version will be a challenge. it has the ominous sound of tragedy and not the lovely sound of Roti's sweet lyrical. I wonder if Meier is up to it? I don't remember her being a dramatic skater.

Sarah is very expressive and, although I'm tired of Roti's R&J, it will be nice to see a lady skater perform it. Adding Prokofiev's version should make for quite an unusual combination, but I'm looking forward to what she'll do with it. And keeping her short from last season is :agree:. I was wishing I would see her perform it more times.

Any word on Laura Lepisto's music? Is she keeping her SP? She should definitely change her LP since she's kept that one for two seasons already.. I wonder what she'll come up with...

I've read that she's keeping the SP (Imagined Oceans) and will have a tango LP (ooh! original! :p). However, the source was a fan forum, and not even Laura's forum, so it's not exactly official AFAIK.

each time someone introduced a new set of music for a skater/couple, he or she has to list ALL the previous ones stated....

Any news/ rumors yet on Davis - White and Virtue - Moir?

nope all the intense ice dance couples are extremely protective.
paul poirier told me he couldnt tell me. are the kerr's silent too?
delobel/schoenfelder....can can and ___________( so anxious for the FD....from the video clip from channel 3, it sounds piano-y/grand - if that makes sense)

can someone do a cliff notes on ice dance?

thanks :)

Why are all the ice dancers so secretive? Or is it just that they take longer to settle on a free dance because they first train the compulsories for the season?

Looks like they are, but I never understood it anyway. Afraid others will 'steal' 'their' music? Besides, what's the point of being extremely protective and then end up with a tosca? Or worse, carmen.

Or protecting something you think is "different" and then there are two Pink Floyds!

I don't understand all the secrecy, either. Really, it just seems silly.

i guess they want to surprise people. and yes, not to point fingers....yes! GREAT GIG IN THE SKY!

John apparently wrote on the AS forums that they're not skating the Scottish OD and will have music selections that have never been used in ice dance. That's all I have.

ha, i figured they'd avoid the obvious and....never been used....hmmm....english court dance? chinese folk dance? Polynesian cermonial dance?! god i love ice dance: the INTENDED variety

I don't think it would affect their choice for the Olympic season anyway but another british couple Chitwood&Hanretty are using a Scottish OD for the upcoming season (Mark Hanretty being Scottish!). I'm sure they will have drawn inspiration from the Kerrs.
