Nordic combine, aka ski-shuffling. Awful "sport", if it can be called such. Speaking of people shuffling slowly, Cynthia was sloooooooooooow. Very disappointing skate, never mind that freak fall.

She still would have been in 2nd, with about 60 points if she skated clean. IMO it's fair, she got -GOE on her combo, -GOE on her footwork a 1.0 deduction, and her PCS are behind Nagasu's. Everything other than her footwork and the turn on the combo was done absolutely gorgeously and deserved +GOE. Where did the inflation come in?

Scott said she caught her pick on the lutz landing and lost too much speed to do the 3T
Sandra sounded pleased - both said it was a strong Olympic debut

Ah. Well, I think I agree with Sandra.

Interesting re the 3-3... I thought I could see it in her face in the middle of the combo that she was a bit miffed. But she should be very pleased that she pulled of a clean combo and that she nailed everything else. Mirai - you are too hard on yourself. you were terrific!! Hope Frank tells her that.

Unlikely. They had a ticker up saying they'll continue to show women's ski cross after the Nordic combined. You know, I normally don't mind the shuffling between sports, but now...I kinda wanna see the skating oh well.

I totally thought Cynthia would skate well enough to justify the relatively huge PCS they gave her. She didn't. I'm disappointed by both the judges and Cynthia.

Whoa, I flip over to the window with the feed and see Elene explode into a triple of some kind. Noice!

Well I'm no expert I was just reacting to what the Eurosport commentators were saying- they thought she wouldn't even qualify... Were very surprised with score.
