Well, I think Caroline has to be careful not to fall into the same trap Johnny Weir did. Basically, if you simplify your choreography and transitions, the judges won't think of you as a contender anymore. (Granted, Johnny was still good with interpretation. And maybe there were other reasons for his disappointing placement at the Olympics.)
So, focusing on your stroking technique and jumps while simplifying your program layout and ignoring your performance is a recipe for being constantly held down by the judges.
By the way, Akiko Suzuki is an incredibly artistic skater. Why the judges undermark her is a mystery to me.
